Chapter 305 A Heart-to-heart Moment of the Siblings
As Adam slowly woke up, he saw doctors examining him, and he realized that he had been saved.
His body's energy gradually returned, and his thoughts started to clear. He recalled the battle with Fujino in Cherry Ridge and faintly remembered seeing his sister when he was on the verge of losing consciousness, as if she had come to find him, blowing a whistle.
Being alive was a blessing, and he desperately wanted to see his sister.
Hearing some sobs, Adam turned his head slowly and saw a woman standing by his bedside.
His sister, Cecelia Linsey, had silently appeared by his side at some point. She didn't call out to him; she just wept silently.
Adam's heart ached, and his voice trembled as he said, "Sis..."
"Kevin..."
Seeing Adam reach out, Cecelia approached and took his hand. The hands of the siblings finally held each other tightly, and Cecelia was deeply moved. In this moment, their tearful eyes met, and both of them shed tears.
There were a thousand words they wanted to say, but they were stuck in their throats, overwhelmed by emotions.
"I'm sorry, Sis..."
Adam apologized once again for his previous actions.
Cecelia shook her head through her tears. Finally, she laid on her brother's chest, crying softly, "I should be the one to say sorry, Kevin. It's me who didn't take care of you properly, me who wrongly accused you..."
"Thank you, Sis. I'm just glad to know you're my real sister. I'm so happy..."
Adam was still weak, and his voice was faint. Cecelia rose and wiped her tears, helping her brother do the same.
"I am too. I'm so happy to find you. My little brother has grown up."
Cecelia gently stroked her brother's face, and both of their hearts were filled with excitement.
"Do you know, all these years, I've been looking for you. I never gave up on finding you. Luckily, my efforts didn't go in vain. I've finally found you, Kevin. You've been through so much suffering."
Adam shook his head, "As long as I can be reunited with my sister, I'm willing to endure any hardship."
The siblings talked for a while, and finally, with teary eyes, Adam asked, "Sis, is it true that mom really died?"
Adam knew about the news of his mother's death, just four years ago. He regretted not remembering it sooner, as he could have reunited with his mother.
"No, our mother may still be alive, Kevin. I've confirmed it; she didn't die."
"Really?"
Adam was instantly filled with hope.
"Yes," Cecelia nodded, "Four years ago, she didn't die; someone faked her death, and she was abducted."
"Where is she now?" Adam's voice trembled, and tears welled up in his eyes again.
"I don't know where she is. Some had faked her death four years ago and kidnapped her ever since.
"Since coming back to the country, I've been investigating our mother's case. Following the leads, I discovered that a top assassin named Black Hawk intervened to prevent my investigation.
"I suspect that our mother was taken by Black Hawk, who was hired by someone else. As for the mastermind behind all this, we don't know yet."
After listening to Cecelia's words, Adam was shocked. He had information about Black Hawk.
"I know this Black Hawk..."
"You know him too?"
Cecelia was slightly surprised.
"Yes. During my missions in Bemanko, I had conflicts with him. From what I know about him, the one pulling his strings should be the Songo family in Porema."
"The Songo family? I see!"
Cecelia was even more surprised. If Black Hawk's mastermind was the Songo family in Porema, then her mother's disappearance was undoubtedly related to them.
Perhaps she would only find her mother if she went to the Songo family in Porema.
Kevin had provided Cecelia with valuable information, and by following this lead, she was sure to discover her mother's whereabouts.
Thinking about her brother's background, Cecelia inquired, "Kevin, you haven't told me yet, was the person who sent you to Cathail Republic to carry out the mission the same person who took you from the Monastery in Phoenix City 13 years ago? Who is he?"
"My shifu, Jed Landis. He founded the Revenant Sect, and he brought me back for training as a fearless disciple. He even game me the name 'Adam'."
