Chapter 323 Confession
"Cece! Watch out!"
Remington noticed what that guy was doing and shouted, releasing Cecelia and dragging her to run.
Suddenly, an explosion erupted behind them with a loud bang. Remington quickly tackled Cecelia, shielding her beneath him.
Flames and the force of the blast mixed with smoke, creating a scorching heat that sent debris flying.
When the smoke cleared and the flames subsided, Cecelia opened her eyes.
"Remi!"
Still in his embrace, Cecelia called out to the man behind her, but there was no response.
Cecelia crawled out of Remington's arms and realized that he had fallen unconscious.
She helped him up and patted his face. "Remington, wake up! Please wake up!"
No matter what she said, there was no sign of Remington waking up. Cecelia freaked out.
"Remington, don't scare me! Wake up, please!"
She held Remington tightly, tears streaming down her face.
If it weren't for him saving her, he wouldn't have been hit by the blast, and he wouldn't be in this state now.
"Remington, you can't leave me. You hear me?"
Remington still had a heartbeat and was breathing, and he was just unconscious. Cecelia continued to call out to him, and finally, he slowly opened his eyes.
"Remington!"
Cecelia cried even harder when she saw him wake up. Her tears dropped onto his face.
"Cece!"
Remington spoke, raising his hand to touch her tear-stained face. "If I died... what would you do?"
Cecelia held his hand, tearfully shaking her head. "Remington, you won't die. I won't let you die. You can't die without my permission."
Though her words sounded tough, her heart was breaking.
"I don't want to leave you, Cece. I haven't told you that... I love you."
Remington gazed at her with an affectionate look, feeling an indescribable reluctance to leave her alone.
This confession, uttered with all his strength, moved Cecelia to tears.
Her heart ached intensely, and her throat felt tight, making it difficult to breathe.
"I also wanted... to hear you say... you love me."
Remington tightly held onto her hand, seemingly waiting for her response.
Cecelia sobbed even harder, and she couldn't speak, only crying.
Suddenly, Remington let out a gasp and appeared to be in pain. "You don't love me. I'm better... off dead."
After that, he suddenly released her hand, his head tilting to the side.
Cecelia was shocked. "No! Remington! I love you! Listen up! I've always loved you. When I was drowning at the resort in my childhood, you saved me. Since then, I've had a crush on you."
Upon hearing these words, Remington's eyes widened as if he had been brought back to life.
"Cece, for real?"
He couldn't believe it and wondered, "She's the little girl I saved when I was thirteen years old? She has had a crush on me since then? She has loved me all the time?"
