Chapter 370 Accomplished Something Big
It was unclear what time Remington left, but Cecelia was already exhausted and fast asleep by then.
The next morning, when Cecelia arrived at the dining room for breakfast, she overheard a servant reporting to Alfred about the appearance of a suspicious person at West Garden the previous night.
"Did you manage to find out who it was?" Alfred asked sternly.
The servant explained, "No, he ran too fast and vanished in an instant. We couldn't catch up with him."
"Did you find anything else? Did the night patrol encounter him?" Alfred asked again.
The servant responded, "Only the guard dog at West Garden kept barking, and the patrol didn't find anything weird."
Alfred ordered, "Alright. You may leave."
He was wondering who had trespassed West Garden the night before when Cecelia walked into the dining room. "Good morning, Granduncle."
Alfred looked at her and asked, "Cecelia, did you have a good rest last night?"
"Yeah, I slept very well until morning."
Cecelia had put on delicate makeup to make herself look vibrant and energetic as if she did have a sound sleep.
Alfred didn't pursue further and ordered breakfast to be served.
After breakfast, Cecelia and Alfred prepared to visit the Songo Dyehouse.
Remington and Adam came together. Remington had barely slept the previous night, but he looked energetic today as if he would never get exhausted.
Adam knew Remington had gone to bother Cecelia the night before and warned Remington not to tarnish his sister's reputation, but Remington didn't obey. There was nothing more Adam could say.
Adam just wondered, "Is it really that interesting for a man and a woman to do that kind of thing? I really can't understand. Just let it be!"
Edwin, who had just met Cecelia last night, also came along.
Warda had planned to join as well, but his wife had had serious diarrhea the previous night, so he had to take her to the hospital that morning.
Mizey, who was still with whip-induced injuries, insisted on going together.
Mizey's injuries weren't really serious. With some ointment applied, she could endure the pain.
Mizey wouldn't let herself miss this opportunity when she learned that her grandfather was taking Cecelia to visit the Songo Dyehouse.
In Mizey's opinion, the Songo Dyehouse would eventually be inherited by the elder branch, and she couldn't give Cecelia any chance to take advantage.
"Miss Cecelia."
When Edwin saw Cecelia, there was a hint of excitement in his eyes. He took the initiative to greet her, while Cecelia responded with a polite but indifferent attitude.
Remington noticed that Edwin looked at Cecelia in a different way. Facing the new face, Remington curiously asked Adam, "Who is this guy? We haven't seen him before, have we?"
"He should be Edwin, the son of the head of the eighth branch. Edwin just returned from Ferndale," Adam replied.
"He's a bit annoying." Remington narrowed his cold eyes slightly.
"I agree. His eyes are glued to my sister. He even got close to her like a dog, sniffing around. What the h*ll does he want?"
Adam couldn't stand it and quickly walked up, pushing Edwin away to protect his sister. Remington also approached Cecelia, his cold gaze fixed on Edwin.
Edwin felt the intimidating stares from the two guys, furrowing his brow, not understanding why they were looking at him with such hostility.
Edwin wondered, "I don't owe them money, do I?"
It was time to get into the cars. Cecelia was arranged to ride with Alfred, but Mizey quickly walked up, stepping on Cecelia's shoe tip, pretending not to notice.
"Cecelia, sorry. I want to sit with my grandpa. Can you sit in the car behind this one?"
