Chapter 379 Cecelia Skillfully Captured the Culprit
"I explained last night already. I went to find Daisy to verify the items for grandfather's birthday, but I couldn't find her, so I brought people to search in the wing."
"Who was the last person to see Daisy? Have you asked?"
"How would I know?"
"Since you don't know, gather all the members of the Songo family and ask them clearly. Otherwise, this matter will only affect Great-uncle's birthday banquet."
Cecelia's presence was imposing though she didn't look mad. She was the suspect everyone suspected, but she carried herself with the demeanor and dominance of the head of the family.
Queenie didn't want to be bossed around by her and didn't obey her order.
Cecelia didn't rely on her. Instead, she went straight to Carol. "Great-aunt, as the matriarch of the Songo family, you give the order for all members of the Songo family to gather in the main hall. I have a way to find the culprit."
Carol glanced at her but didn't speak. Edwin chimed in, "Grandmother, Cecelia said she has a way. Hurry and gather all the servants! It's in the best interest of the Songo family to resolve this matter quickly."
"Alright, Johnson, spread the word and gather everyone in the main hall."
"Yes!"
Johnson received the order and quickly went to inform everyone.
Before long, all the servants, maids, and nannies of the Songo family were called to the main hall. The entrance was filled with people, all discussing Daisy's death.
Carol, leaning on her cane, walked out of the door with other members of the Songo family and said to everyone, "Last night, a very unfortunate incident occurred in the Songo family. Daisy, who was honest and kindhearted, was tragically murdered in the east wing.
"I have called you all here to ask who was the last person to see Daisy and where it was. If you have any clues, please speak up."
After Carol finished speaking, she scanned the crowd. The discussions among the servants ceased, and a maid raised her hand and said, "Madam Songo, last night, Daisy and I were helping in the kitchen. It was before the banquet started, around six o'clock."
Others then began to speak one after another, some saying they saw Daisy in the morning, some in the afternoon, and some in the evening.
The general time frame was before and after dinner, and the locations mentioned were the kitchen and dining hall. As for how Daisy ended up in the east wing, no one provided any clues.
Cecelia walked towards the crowd and passed by the servants, speaking as she walked, "The perpetrator waited until it was dark and took action while the masters were dining, mainly to divert attention.
"The police and forensic experts have confirmed that the time of death was approximately two to three hours before the body was discovered. This means that there is a conflict between my returning to the east wing around 9 o'clock and the time Daisy was killed.
"It also proves that someone had prepared the murder scene in advance, waiting for me to go back and fall into the trap. However, they overlooked the fact that the time of death can be determined by forensic experts."
While analyzing the case, Cecelia also observed the expressions and subtle movements of everyone present.
"Furthermore, another fact is that the initial location of Daisy's death was not the east wing, but somewhere else. She was suffocated by someone covering her mouth and nose before being dragged into the east wing to fake her murder."
As Cecelia revealed the inside information, everyone was shocked and couldn't help but whisper.
Queenie sneered and said, "Cecelia, you're not a police officer. Stop pretending here. Do you have any evidence to support what you're saying?"
Cecelia turned her head and looked at Queenie through the crowd. "Good question. What I said was just my speculation. However, we can clarify everything by accessing the Songo family's surveillance footage."
Queenie's eyes became more arrogant. "What a coincidence. We also wanted to investigate the surveillance footage yesterday, but unfortunately, it was broken. And the biggest problem is that there is no surveillance on the east wing. How can you prove that you didn't kill Daisy and try to blame someone else?"
"Since you said so, I have nothing to say! But since the surveillance is broken, let's use the simplest method to test the murderer!"
