Chapter 393 These Are the Best Evidence
Cecelia turned around slowly. Spencer, lying on the hospital bed, raised his trembling hand. His eyes are full of tears.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry for them..."
Spencer finally shed tears of repentance. Over the years, the condemnation of his conscience had made him restless day and night.
Whenever he dreamt in the middle of the night, he would always remember the things he had done against his conscience. After being an accomplice, he couldn't live a peaceful life anymore.
Now, he didn't want to continue to hide it. And he didn't want to implicate his family.
Cecelia returned to Spencer and listened to the inside story. In the end, Spencer beckoned his son and said, "Go take Miss Linsey and find the black box in the safe. Give it to her!"
Spencer's son obeyed his father and took Cecelia and Remington back to the Lowell family. Eventually, he got the black box his father was talking about.
On the way back, Cecelia opened the box and saw that it contained several copies of the Songo family's change of ownership papers.
Among them was the agreement for the transfer of the Songo Mansion. The old mansion was transferred from Edmond's name to Jackson's.
There was also a change of shareholding agreement for the Songo Group and a waiver of inheritance agreement that Cassie was forced to sign.
Also included was a change of relationship letter between Jackson and Edmond. The original was to certify that Jackson was Edmond's adopted son and that there was no blood between the two of them. After the change, Jackson became Edmond's biological son and was entitled to inherit from the Songo family.
After reading these documents, Cecelia made up her mind to take revenge.
These documents were important for her to take back the Songo Group and the Songo family's estate.
Cecelia had a feeling of tightness in her chest. "Great! These are the best evidence to prove that Jackson stole the Songo Group! Even if these are copies, at least, it will confirm what happened back then."
"You didn't waste your time."
Remington felt that Spencer couldn't have voluntarily handed over the evidence without Cecelia's wisdom and verbal tricks.
"Hmm. Are we going to see Zoila next?" asked Cecelia.
"Yep. Kevin asked around. Zoila lives in a farmhouse not far from here."
Then they set off together to the farmhouse. They found a house with the surname Flores, and Cecelia knocked on the door and asked, "Is Mrs Flores there, please?"
Soon, a middle-aged woman came out of the house. She opened the door and saw several strangers. Then, puzzled, she asked, "What do you want with me? I don't seem to know you!"
"We are here for your daughter Rosa."
"There is nothing to say about my daughter..."
The moment Zoila heard Cecelia mention her daughter, the look on her face immediately changed, and she was about to close the door.
But Cecelia was one step ahead of her and reached out to block it. "Mrs. Flores, we are trying to help your daughter get justice! Don't you want justice for your daughter? Can you stand by and watch her suffer?"
Zoila was convinced, but she remained wary in her mind. "Who the hell are you people? Are you journalists? If you are, I have nothing to say! You guys get out of here!"
"We're not journalists! I'm Cassie's granddaughter. You should know who Cassie is, right?"
The moment Zoila heard Cecelia say who she was, she got an extremely shocked look on her face. "You are Cassie's granddaughter? Are you a Songo?"
Cecelia nodded and took out her jade pendant. "This is the jade pendant my grandmother gave me. I am the heir of the Songo Dyehouse. Do you believe me?"
Zoila had to believe her. After all, she had nothing to be deceived now.
