Chapter 41 She Has Gained the Upper Hand
"Miss Linsey, let's go to the study then!"
Now Morris was a little afraid of her. He made a "please" gesture, and Cecelia walked with him toward the study.
Seeing that her husband had truly agreed to converse with her in private, she shouted, "Honey, what're you doing? Is there anything you can't talk about here? And you have to talk to the woman in the study?"
"Don't make a fuss! Wait for me here!"
Morris reprimanded her and turned, taking Cecelia to the study.
Watching the two walk into the study one after the other, Jenny almost exploded.
What kind of trick was Cecelia playing?
What did she want to tell her husband?
What really happened on June 22 ten years ago?
In the study, Morris was no longer that arrogant as one of high status, but slightly nervous.
Carrying a hint of warning in his tone, he whispered, "Miss Linsey, what do you really mean?"
"As soon as you hear my words, you'll know what I mean. What did you do on June 22 ten years ago? And where did you do it? I don't think you want me to remind you, right?"
The inside stories of the incident from ten years ago were told in the anonymous messages sent to her.
Cecelia sneered, "If I told everything you did to the police, guess what would happen? Who would fall from high status with his reputation ruined?"
Morris was now panicky. He didn't know how much this woman knew, but if she truly knew what he had done ten years ago and made everything public, he would have his downfall and lose his reputation.
"You dare!" he bared his teeth.
"Am I afraid of doing anything? I have nothing to lose, so I'm not afraid of anything. I'm just nobody. Mrs. Quinsey has ruined my reputation. Senator Quinsey, you're of high status and have great power. Compared with you, I'm nothing indeed."
Cecelia's eyes turned colder. The two of them stared at each other for a few moments. Then Morris warned insidiously, "If you dare to disclose them, I'll make your life very hard! And you shall never dream about leaving the Quinseys' house alive today!"
"Bang!"
Cecelia suddenly banged her palm on the table and shouted, "Senator Quinsey!"
Looking fierce, she said, "Your family bullied me, but you forced me to apologize. Is that fair? Now you also want to threaten to kill me! Do you really think I'm easy to bully as a woman?
"Since I dared to come barehanded, I don't care if you'll kill me! Will I be afraid of your family? Or you?
"Since you became an official, you've been upholding the banner of being incorruptible. But you have tens of millions of dollars behind the wall of this study. Where did you get the cash? Do you want me to tell you about their sources?"
Cecelia had decided to visit the Quinseys' house. Of course, she had done enough investigation in advance. Only by finding out everything about Morris could she confront him without fear.
She would see if he would remain arrogant!
Morris opened his mouth a few times, his eyes full of shock and cold sweat running down.
Now he was so afraid of Cecelia. What was the background of this woman?
Why did she even know how much money he had behind the hidden wall of his family's study?
This was a war of nerves. Cecelia knew she had gained the upper hand.
She added, "Don't worry, Senator Quinsey. I'm not here to disclose your secrets or make them public because I'm not interested."
"Then... then what do you really want?" Morris asked again.
"I just want to reiterate one thing. Your son and wife bullied Andres Nelson. I want them to go to the Nelsons' house to apologize, and I also want you to stop suppressing the Nelson Group.
"I promise you'll continue being the senator. And you'll even have a meteoric rise! Otherwise...
Morris didn't have any other choice. After weighing the pros and cons for a while, he said solemnly, "Okay, I agree!"
The study door reopened, and Jenny almost fell in.
