Married by Accident, Taming the Billionaire novel Chapter 460

Chapter 460 Ruin Their Career

It was said that there had been incidents of customer discrimination at the Vera store in Prosperous Central Plaza, and that was why Cecelia came for an undercover inspection today.

Cecelia hadn't brought a large group of company executives to the store because that would never allow them to truly understand the offline sales model. Only by dressing as an ordinary customer could they observe the most authentic behind-the-scenes happenings.

Cecelia and Ariella walked into the Vera counter on the 4th floor, and sure enough, things were exactly as reported. The store manager and a store clerk inside, upon seeing ordinary customers entering the store, only glanced at them and did not even bother to welcome them.

Their attitudes towards the customers were already a huge problem. When Cecelia and Ariella entered the store and expressed a desire to try on some clothes, they were refused.

"Sorry, Vera brand sells high-end ready-to-wear clothes, and the prices are not low. You two should be careful. If you damage anything, you probably can't afford it."

Cecelia coldly eyed the name tag on the manager's chest. "Are you the store manager here?"

The manager Lucy straightened up and lifted her chin. "Yes, I am the store manager here."

"Okay. I'll just look around," Cecelia said, staring at Lucy. Then, Cecelia walked away and continued to walk further inside.

Upon hearing Cecelia say that she would just look around, Lucy figured that such passersby would not make a purchase, so she didn't bother wasting words on them.

With a hint of mild disdain in her eyes, Lucy then glanced at Ariella, who followed Cecelia in.

Ariella was not wearing makeup and was just dressed in a plain denim T-shirt. She didn't look like a rich lady. Though she had been with Cecelia on a previous visit, who would remember such an ordinary person?

Lucy didn't even consider them as potential buyers and simply turned and walked away.

Ariella trailed after Cecelia and walked around, and a while later, they overheard the manager and the store clerk mocking them.

"Those two hicks won't buy anything. I'm worried they'll dirty our clothes," Lucy criticized, and the clerk named Shelia added, "What should we do? Shall I find a way to drive them out?"

"Forget it. Just let them look around. After all, they can't afford to buy anything. These poor souls are just here for window shopping," Lucy said, holding a mirror to check her appearance.

Shelia sucked up. "Lucy, I've heard that you will be transferred to the head office to be the district manager next month. Congratulations on your promotion in advance!"

Lucy smiled smugly. "It's just a rumor; I haven't gotten the official documents yet."

"The news has spread around the company. It must be true."

The two women chatted excitedly, and Cecelia overheard their conversation. If Cecelia hadn't come in person, she wouldn't have known that her store would harbor such contemptible people who looked down upon others.

During her previous visit, she showed up as a superior. The staff in the store had warmly welcomed her and she couldn't discern anything wrong. Now, when she disguised herself and visited here, she had a truly profound experience.

Listening to the manager and store clerk's foolish conversation, Ariella silently rolled her eyes, thinking that they had ruined their career here.

Just then, another new store clerk returned. She was dragging a large box full of newly arrived goods. "Shelia, can you give me a hand?" the new clerk, Monica, asked Shelia.

Shelia remained motionless, and Lucy impatiently snapped, "Monica, can't you even handle that little amount of goods by yourself? Hurry up! Don't dawdle! I can't believe picking up goods takes this long."

Monica, who couldn't get any help, laboriously pushed the goods into the storage room in the back on her own and then came back to attend to the customers in the store.
