Chapter 141 The Bracelet Is Lost
Natalie couldn't stay in the lounge to continue the search.
Owen was right.
If she dropped the bracelet in the lounge, she could come back to look for it later.
She would find it.
Natalie glanced at the clock.
It was four o'clock in the morning.
She grabbed the collar of her sweater and lifted it to cover half of her face, letting out a heavy sigh and hurrying away to the ward.
Kendrick had a fever because of the wound.
Thankfully, his central nervous system was not infected.
Owen checked on Kendrick and said the problem was minor, suggesting they wait for the fever to reduce naturally without any medication.
Natalie sat by the bed and held Kendrick's hand.
His palm was burning, and his face was red. He kept frowning at the pain without much consciousness in the coma.
However, when Natalie held his hand, Kendrick seemed to respond to her.
Natalie buried her face in his palm and muttered softly, "You'll get better."
Owen came over and asked her to take a rest.
Natalie didn't want to leave.
"He's not out of danger." She said, "He might suffer postoperative complications. I feel safe when I stay with him here."
Owen thought she was stubborn.
"Don't you care about your own health?" He unusually raised his voice. "I'll arrange for someone to look after him. I'll stay here too."
Natalie didn't budge.
She said, "He needs me now."
Owen said calmly, "He won't wake up in a short while even if you're here. Moreover, you've just woken up. Your condition doesn't allow you to exhaust yourself."
Natalie didn't say a word.
Owen turned to leave quietly. After a while, he came back with a glass of water and handed it to Natalie. "Drink some water."
Natalie thanked him and drank the water.
She soon felt sleepy.
Her eyelids became heavy.
She couldn't help drifting off to sleep.
...
Owen finally managed to put Natalie on the sofa in the ward and let her take a good rest.
He instructed the nurses to observe Kendrick closely.
If there were any wound infections or other complications, they should report to him immediately.
Owen felt exhausted at this moment.
He went to the lounge and looked for the bracelet.
He almost overturned the sofas in the room, but he failed to find Natalie's bracelet.
Owen went to ask his assistants.
They said they didn't see the bracelet.
The two of them didn't enter the lounge.
Owen didn't know where the bracelet was.
He raised his hand and pressed his forehead with a disturbed look.
He thought the bracelet must be very important to Natalie.
She seemed to have cried just now.
Suddenly, Owen's phone rang.
He looked at the caller's name.
His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly answered the phone.
"I've arrived."
"Didn't you say you would come at the end of the month?"
"I came earlier. Let's meet tomorrow. I'll give you GM-1. I can't stay long here."
"Okay." Owen said gently and solemnly, "Mother, thank you!"
Brynn chuckled softly and said, "Owen, don't mention it. You're my son, and I'm willing to do anything for you. Moreover, you haven't asked me for anything over the years. I'm hanging up. See you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow."
Brynn hung up the phone.
Owen suddenly felt relieved.
His mother had been reluctant to set foot in Hamgrad.
However, she made an exception for him and brought GM-1 back to Hamgrad in the name of academic exchange.
