Chapter 146 My Lower Part Has Regained Consciousness
Brock got Kendrick's intention quickly and made a zipping gesture near his mouth.
He took a towel and wiped Kendrick's sweat.
After he calmed down, Brock stammered, "Mr. Ramsey, I saw you stand up just now."
Afraid that he would be heard, Brock whispered softly.
Kendrick took a deep breath and shook his head. "I can only stand for a short while."
He could now stand up with the strength of his back, but it would take him a long while to walk and run like a normal man.
He was not sure if he could do that.
Brock touched his head and said, "It seems your surgery was successful. Dr. Gentry is indeed a genius in his field."
Kendrick was silent for a while before saying, "Have you got anything new?"
Brock weighed his words and said, "I checked all the surveillance cameras, but I couldn't find Mrs. Ramsey in any of them. The surveillance cameras at the exits of the hospital didn't show she left the hospital. I think she was in the hospital during your surgery."
Brock said inwardly, "Mr. Ramsey, why don't you ask her directly where she was during that period?"
Kendrick rubbed his forehead in frustration.
If he couldn't find the bracelet...
He pondered for a while and said, "Contact Mr. Ferman and ask if he can make an identical bracelet."
Brock asked, "Shall I continue the search for the bracelet?"
"After you sort out the surveillance, give it to me."
"I got it."
Kendrick added, "Give me the list of the medical staff who attended my surgery along with their detailed information."
Brock couldn't help saying, "Would you like to express your gratitude to them?"
He thought Kendrick had a warm heart even though he looked aloof.
Kendrick was speechless.
He nodded.
After Kendrick spoke, his wound started to hurt again. He leaned in the wheelchair, too weak to say anything.
Kendrick glanced at the glass door, at which a figure waved at him.
Natalie seemed to be shut out of the door.
Kendrick instructed Brock, "Go open the door for her."
Brock quickly went to open the door. When he saw Natalie, he explained, "The access control system has been upgraded, and you need to validate your face again. I'll help you with that later."
It dawned on Natalie. "No wonder the system couldn't recognize my face."
After she spoke, Natalie went past Brock and ran toward Kendrick, squatting down and asking, "Did you start training so early?"
She didn't see Kendrick in the ward just now. She asked the carer and learned that Kendrick went to the rehabilitation center.
"My wound is healing." Kendrick forced a smile. "I come here to have some exercise."
Natalie asked tentatively, "Do you feel better?"
Theoretically, Kendrick's back and legs would grow much stronger than before even if he couldn't stand up for the moment.
"I feel much better." Kendrick made a comparison and said, "My lower part has regained consciousness."
He didn't feel numb as often as before.
Natalie made a calculation.
The dosage of GM-1 could only last for four weeks.
The best result of the first course of treatment was that Kendrick could stand up.
If he failed to do that, he would need another stem cell transplantation surgery.
The current problem was that the production of GM-1 was unstable, and it was difficult to import it.
Natalie wondered if she could find a replacement medicine.
She pondered carefully with a deep frown.
"What are you thinking?" A hand caressed her face.
Natalie was caught off guard. Kendrick saw the troubled look on her face.
"Nothing." Natalie forced a smile and said, "Let's go. I've brought you dinner."
...
Natalie made the dinner tonight.
There was shrimp, beef, spinach, and carrot.
And a bowl of mild sparerib soup.
On the vegetarian spaghetti, there was a heart-shaped egg.
Kendrick was sore all over after the training, and his hands had no strength left.
Therefore, Natalie fed him.
She looked solemn. Perhaps she was tired, or she was thinking of Kendrick's recovery plan.
