Chapter 158 Don't Come On To Her
Kendrick never wore his heart on his sleeve. But now, all over his handsome face, from his eyebrows to his eyes, showed that he was in an extremely bad mood!
Wasn't it outrageous to paw her like that in broad daylight?
Even though he really wanted Natalie to get in the car immediately, he still suppressed his temper.
With so many people around, he had to save her face.
Therefore, he raised his hand to the car window and lowered his eyes, showing an air of stern superiority. He glanced at the face of the boy in front of him straightly and opened his thin lips to call the boy's name accurately, "Saul!"
As Saul's name was called out, he nodded and lowered his eyes, not daring to speak loudly.
"Has the first draft of the design been completed?" Kendrick raised his eyebrows and said in a bad tone, "It's the deadline to hand in today!"
As the structural adjustments had been made in Ramsey Group recently, the artificial intelligence new energy vehicles and semiconductor chips were all integrated and planned by Kendrick.
Now he was the highest and the only director of the group.
He also got Saul's internship certificate.
"Not yet." Saul replied honestly, "Some details still need revising in the final draft."
"Then what are you doing here?"
Saul was stunned by Kendrick's stern and cold tone.
He was arranged by the Williamson family to be an intern in Ramsey Group and also participated in staff meetings because of his status. At that time, Kendrick spoke at the meeting with a calm tone throughout. Although he said harshly, he didn't have much mood swing.
As a boy who had just left school, Saul could only bite the bullet and answer when he was questioned like this, "My colleague just bought me a cup of coffee and I wanted to help her carry the coffee back to the workplace." He pointed to Natalie's handbag and said, "That is quite heavy!"
Colleagues needed to be friendly and care about each other, which was something written in the employee code of conduct.
Saul didn't think that there was something wrong with his answer.
He felt that Kendrick couldn't find fault with it even though he really wanted to.
But he was young after all. To his surprise, Kendrick smiled lightly as he heard that. And then he turned to look at Natalie and asked her calmly, "Do you need his help?"
His tone changed again, becoming gentle and kind.
However, Natalie heard what he had said and got another meaning, which was something like, "Don't you dare say that you need Saul's help?"
She could have just slipped away and left Saul facing the storm alone. But she was afraid of being misunderstood and thus stayed.
Sure enough, she just couldn't run away.
"Oh, that won't be necessary!" Natalie reacted quickly, "It's not that heavy. Well, I can carry it by myself." She glanced at the time and said, "I have to go to the morning meeting."
And then she turned around and left without looking back.
Kendrick's gaze fell on Saul's face again. His look was full of sarcasm and disdain, and he said harshly, "Did you hear that? She doesn't need it!"
"Don't come on to her! Why don't you spend that time and energy on your work so that the design draft will not be sent back for repeated revisions!" These were the last words he told Saul. And then he closed the car window and directly asked the driver to drive away.
Saul was stunned. He pinched the strap of his backpack with both hands and was at a loss a bit.
Before he worked in the group, he had heard some judgements of Kendrick.
Kendrick was gentle, but rather strict and serious about his work.
Now that was correct indeed!
But he was not gentle at all!
...
There were a few boys and girls from political families having internships in Ramsey Group.
It was their way to enrich their lifes.
They could just develop some contacts.
And the group could also expand its influence and voice.
Despite the ups and downs in politics, the Ramsey Group had always stood firm and gradually grasped the economic lifeline of Hamgrad.
Even though Ryland deliberately suppressed the power of the group, the Williamson family still sent Saul in for an internship.
Compared to other lame ducks, Saul was rather awesome, especially in his own professional field.
His design draft was revised and then sent to Kendrick for final review.
As Kendrick was clear that business was business, he didn't make things difficult for Saul after revising some details and let him carry it out immediately.
