Chapter 407 The Soft-Hearted One
Faye's expression changed, and everything seemed to suddenly became clear.
Nylah was with Maxwell.
The last time Nylah came to her and told her that she knew the secrets about the Farrells, her original intention wasn't to discuss cooperation at all, but to figure out whether Lance was sent by her.
But Faye was stupid and asked Lance to approach Nylah to ask for the information.
She fell right into the trap.
After Faye figured out that point, she narrowed her eyes and thought to herself, "I was too careless."
Faye sat down while clutching onto her phone. Then, she sent a message to Lance, "How are you now? Are you all safe?"
Lance replied, "We're still safe for now."
Faye continued, "Feel free to contact me if there is anything."
Lance answered, "Don't worry, if something happens, I will let Andy handle it and I will escape first."
After sending the message to Lance, Faye became more and more restless.
If she hadn't underestimated her opponent, that wouldn't have happened.
After getting off the car, Faye took the elevator and went upstairs.
When she arrived at the office of the public relations department, Faye strode into her office.
Compared with yesterday, the office of the public relations department seemed quieter today.
There was nothing serious except for two stars who were revealed to be not single.
After Faye entered her office, she made herself a cup of coffee. Then, she stood upright in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and drank half of it. She took out her mobile phone and sent a message to Colin, "Are you coming to the office today?"
Colin replied after a while, "Yes, but I'll be late."
Faye responded, "Um."
Colin continue, "I went out with Abbot just now."
Faye asked, "For a checkup?"
Colin replied, "No. We went next door to get Maxwell agitated."
Even if Faye didn't see it with her own eyes, she could imagine how arrogant Abbot would look when he was provoking Maxwell.
She couldn't help laughing. After that, she sent a message to Colin, "Nylah is with Maxwell."
After the message was sent, Colin called her directly in the next second.
Faye answered it and said, "Hello."
Colin's voice was low and he was laughing. It was obvious that he didn't take Nylah seriously and said, "Nylah able to act so well?"
Faye took a light sip of the coffee and said, "Well, I didn't notice it."
Colin tried to ease her and said, "She is just a nobody. Nothing to worry about."
Faye said, "But this nobody manage to figure out all the spies I placed on the outside."
Colin said solemnly, "Well, it isn't something difficult to find out it's Lance if the others want to investigate. It's just that Blaine is too stupid and Tiffany is too self-confident, so they didn't find out all these years."
Faye looked at the building not far away and said, "Indeed."
Colin laughed and said, "Besides, as you said just now, they are just the spies on the outside and meant to be the cover-up."
Faye pursed her lips slightly, didn't deny it, and said, "Although these were discussed and agreed by the few of us at the beginning, I still don't want them to be in any danger."
Colin replied in a deep voice, "I understand."
After Colin finished speaking, Faye was about to say something but her office door was knocked on from outside.
Faye turned around and said, 'Come in'. Then, she told Colin, who was on the phone, "I have something to attend to. I got to go."
Colin's voice was seductive and pleasant, "Dear, I miss you."
Faye was speechless.
Colin said, "I'll hang up now."
After that, Colin disconnected the call.
Faye moved the blacked-out mobile phone to her front and her ears turned red without her noticing.
Faye stared at the phone screen for a few seconds before Galen pushed the door open.
"Ms. Nash."
Faye returned to her senses, restrained her emotions, and put the phone in her pocket. Then, she raised her eyes and said calmly, "What's wrong?"
Galen was holding a folder in her hand and she looked at Faye cautiously, "It's a termination contract sent by Mr. Ford."
