Chapter 423 Businessmen
If it were someone else, he or she might not be able to hear Lance was hiding something. But Faye had known him for many years, so she could notice the anomaly in every little detail.
She frowned, "What happened to Emmett?"
Lance held his breath and said, "It's not serious."
Faye know he would not tell her the truth, so she changed the topic and asked, "Where are you now?"
Lance paused for a while. Knowing that he couldn't hide it, he replied, "NewLife Hospital."
Faye said, "I will be there soon."
Then, she hung up the phone, turned to look at Colin, and said, "Go to NewLife Hospital."
Colin nodded without objecting. Glancing at her left shoulder, he frowned quietly.
There were few cars at night, so the road was unobstructed.
Half an hour later, they arrived at NewLife Hospital, got off the car one after another, and went straight to the emergency room.
As soon as they arrived, they saw Lance sitting on a chair in the corridor.
Hearing their footsteps, he turned his head over. Seeing Faye, he forced a smile and said, "You're fast."
Faye frowned, "Where's Emmett?"
Lance replied, "He is having his stomach pumped. He ate something that shouldn't be eaten."
Faye pursed her lips into a straight line and kept silent.
Seeing this, Lance knew she was feeling guilty, so he pretended to be relieved and said with a smile, "It's not a big deal. The doctor said he will be fine after the gastric lavage."
Faye asked in disbelief, "Really?"
Lance said, "Why would I lie to you about this?"
Then, he looked over her shoulder and saw Andy behind her. He got up, walked up to him, and said asked, "Are you injured?"
Lance had not exchanged pleasantries with Andy but acted as if they were old friends who had known each other for many years.
Andy replied, "No."
Hearing this, Colin, who was standing beside him, burst into laughter. Andy felt very embarrassed, and his face became gloomy.
Colin said, "Lance, don't just look at his front. Check his back."
Hearing this, Lance grabbed Andy's arms and turned him around.
When he saw the injuries on his head and back, he frowned, "How did you get injured so seriously?"
Andy said, "It doesn't hurt."
Lance was speechless.
Seeing their interaction, Colin kept silent. Then, he walked over to Faye and said, "Emmett is having gastric lavage. You should also go see a doctor and treat your injury now. Otherwise, he would worry about you when he comes out."
Faye said, "OK."
Colin put his arm around Faye's waist and led her to the emergency room.
When they entered the door, Lance also brought Andy in.
The doctor on duty tonight was a man in his fifties who had just accepted Emmett. Seeing them coming, he glanced at them suspiciously and asked, "What do you do?"
