Chapter 428 Hidden Deeply
Hearing his words, Faye pursed her lips into a straight line in silence.
A few seconds later, Colin buried his face in her neck and burst into laughter. Then, he reached out to turn off the bedside lamp and said, "Good night, honey."
The atmosphere at home the next day had been tense since breakfast.
And the source of the tension was Carlotta.
Seeing her so ill at ease, Cindy had tried to chat with her several times to ease the atmosphere, saying, "Ms. Kemp, you will just accompany Dr. Carter to a class reunion. You don't need to be so nervous."
Holding a glass of juice with both hands, Carlotta said worriedly, "Is there any special table manners here?"
Cindy replied, "There should be nothing special."
Carlotta said, "That's good."
When Colin and Faye saw Carlotta's nervousness, they exchanged glances but kept silent.
At such a moment, the silence was the best consolation. The more they persuaded her, the more nervous she would feel.
After breakfast, Colin received a call from Ethan and left.
Faye was watching TV in the living room together with Carlotta, but both were absent-minded.
With the remote in hand, Carlotta kept changing channels and finally stopped on a variety show.
Probably feeling that the atmosphere was too awkward, she took the initiative to ask, "Faye, who is that girl who is about to dive?"
Faye responded, "Aniston."
Carlotta asked, "Is she an artist from your company?"
Faye nodded, "Yes."
Faye hadn't talked to Aniston since she had helped her deal with the scandal last time.
Aniston and William were both cautious, so entertainment reporters could hardly get anything on her.
Seeing her on a variety show, Faye couldn't help taking a second look.
When Aniston was about to dive, Faye's phone on the arm of the sofa suddenly vibrated.
She lowered her eyes to take a look, and when she saw the message on the screen, she raised her eyebrows.
An unknown number asked, "How are you going to thank me?"
Thank?
Who?
When she was suspecting someone had sent the message to the wrong number, the second message came and said, "Do you think it is because the people of Heaven of Bomsville are soft-hearted that Emmett was just scared?"
Faye's eyes darkened when a coldness flashed across her face.
The sender must be Maxwell.
Looking at the two messages, Faye reached out to lock the phone screen, not intending to reply.
After a few seconds, the phone vibrated when the third message came and said, "Faye, this round of the game is a draw."
She glanced at it lightly with an indifferent expression and then ignored it.
