Chapter 478 Affection
Rebecca's mother spoke seriously. When she finished speaking, she gave Rebecca a look of "I wish you all the best".
Rebecca twitched the corners of her mouth and was about to refute. Then, she saw her mother get up from the couch, touched her hair with her hands, and said, "I need to check on your dad now."
Rebecca looked melancholy and said, "Mom."
Rebecca's mother replied, "It wouldn't be helpful even if you call me "God" now. This is your fault. You have to fix it yourself."
Rebecca thought to herself, "If you didn't say anything just now, it wouldn't have become such a big disaster!"
Seeing that her mother was leaving, Rebecca turned to look at the other culprit.
Abbot looked calm at that moment as if he didn't realize that he had made a mistake.
Rebecca laughed awkwardly and said, "Mr. Carter, don't tell me that you didn't say those stuff just now without any intention."
Abbot looked innocent and asked, "What did I just say?"
Rebecca asked, "When did we start seeing each other?"
Abbot answered firmly, "In that business trip."
Rebecca continued, "What happened on that business trip was an accident. We don't enjoy it. Don't we?"
Abbot argued, "It was an accident. But what your father asked was when we started to have the connection. What's wrong with my answer about that business trip?"
Rebecca didn't know what to say.
Rebecca looked at Abbot's sincere expression. When she thought of his low emotional intelligence, she took a deep breath and said "Fine. Let's not talk about that. Next question. When did I sleep with you?"
Hearing Rebecca's words, Abbot seemed to recall something. His ears turned red and said, "The night you forced a kiss on me when we were on a business trip. Don't you remember?"
Rebecca froze for a moment. The images of what had happened that night flashed in her mind which were clean and decent.
How could he say that they were sleeping together?
Apart from being on the same bed, they didn't have any other interaction at all!
Rebecca raised her hand and pinched her eyebrows. She was completely defeated by Abbot's way of thinking.
Did he say anything incorrectly?
No. Not even a bit.
If following the way he thought, everyone would find that what he said was actually justified.
Rebecca stared at Abbot for a while. Then, she fell on the couch, leaned into it, and said, "Mr. Carter, I doubt that you are the nemesis sent to me by God."
Abbot frowned at Rebecca and asked, "What do you mean?"
Rebecca answered, "Nothing. Thank fate for letting me meet you."
Abbot pursed his lips slightly, and asked after a pause, "Mrs. Black said that you told her that you fall for someone..."
