Chapter 500 Having a Sense of Propriety
A tavern was always a place where good and bad mixed together.
There were countless people who got drunk and found fault every day.
So over time, it had also developed the judgement of these waiters.
When the man in the lead stopped speaking, the waiter standing in front of him said with a smile on his face, "Hank, which man were you talking about? Tall or short? Fat or thin?"
The waiter stopped talking. Did not wait for the man to reply, he added with a smile, "Though our tavern is small, there are a lot of customers every day. There were several men came in before you. Could you please describe what characteristics your friend is?"
As the saying goes, never slap the smiley face.
After the waiter's words, the man in the lead looked downward and didn't see anything different on the waiter's face. He said with a cold face, "No, arrange a private room for us."
Waiter, "Please come with me."
When speaking, the waiter brought them to the box in the opposite direction from Jake.
After settling these people, the waiter came out of the box and ran to the back kitchen to report the situation to his boss.
The boss's face was ugly, "Are they looking for Jake?"
The waiter nodded, "Yes, and I can see that they definitely come to pick a fight."
Boss, "Who did he offend again?"
The waiter, "Not sure. Should we quietly inform Dr. Thomas and have him go through the back door?"
The boss was silent for a moment and spoke in a deep voice, "You guys go about your business. Just pretend nothing happened."
The waiter took the hint, "Understand."
After talking to the waiter, the tavern owner came out of the back kitchen. Looking around the tavern, he headed to Jake's box.
Jake was sipping wine slowly and methodically when the compartment door was suddenly pushed open from outside.
Jake's head tilted slightly. After seeing the tavern owner's livid face, he raised his eyebrows slightly, "Such an ugly face. Were you robbed?"
The tavern owner snorted lightly, closed the door of the room backhandedly, walked to Jake's opposite and sat down, "I was not robbed. But you'll soon to be robbed."
Jake, "Hmm?"
Tavern owner, "Have you offended someone?"
Jake paused for a second and understood, "Is someone looking for me?"
The tavern owner, "Seven or eight big and tall men."
Jake played with his wine glass, "Beefcakes, huh?"
The tavern owner heard what he said, reached out and slapped Jake on the head, "You are crazy. At this time you still in the mood for jokes."
Jake's body ducked back and teased, "One has to learn to enjoy oneself despite poverty."
The tavern owner, "Don't enjoy yourself now. You should think about how to escape. Pick out any one of those men, and he will kill you."
The tavern owner stopped. After pondering for a moment, he said, "Jake, I'm not infinitely resourceful. I can only keep you safe in my tavern."
Jake raised his hand to send wine to his mouth, "It's enough to keep me safe here."
The tavern owner, "But my tavern won't open all night and up to one or two o'clock at night. If open too late they will certainly be suspicious."
