Chapter 499 Imminent Danger
Jake deliberately said those joking words in a righteous tone.
Faye was amused and said, “What an ambitious aspiration. I wish your dream come true.”
Jake teased, “I will carry you if my dream comes true.”
Faye said with a smile, “Okay. I’m waiting for it.”
It was already 6 p.m. when Faye left Jake’s clinic.
Originally, Faye prepared to treat Jake to dinner, but Jake declined it with a lame excuse.
Faye understood how Jake felt at this moment. She didn’t expose his excuse, nor did she force him.
Faye drove to the hospital after leaving the clinic.
It was rush hour and there was traffic congestion all the way.
It was almost 8 p.m. when Faye arrived at the hospital.
After parking the car, Faye went to the canteen of the hospital and packed out a bowl of vegetable porridge. Then she directly took an elevator to Colin’s ward.
She heard Abbot’s tease when she reached the door of the ward.
“Colin, would you like some spicy seafood?”
“The spicy seafood of this restaurant tastes good.”
“It tastes more delicious with an icy beer. Tsk, tsk.”
Abbot said with a fake smile, “Now that it’s so delicious, we can order two more of it. I will pay for it and you can enjoy it to your heart’s content.”
Abbot said with a teasing smile, “Will you be so kind-hearted? This is not your way of doing things.”
Colin replied, “I’m always tolerant of those dying people.”
Faye listened to Colin and Abbot’s joke at the door. Suppressing her laughter, she then pushed open the door and walked in.
Colin and Abbot quieted down simultaneously when they heard the sound from the door.
Seeing Faye, Abbot cleaned up the seafood on the table, reached out to take two tissues from the bedside table, wiped his hand, and said, “Oh, Faye, you’re back.”
Faye replied with a smile, “Yep.”
Abbot took a glance at the meal box in Faye’s hand and asked curiously, “Is this Colin’s dinner?”
Faye replied, “Yep. It’s vegetable porridge.”
Abbot chimed in, “Porridge is good. It nurtures your stomach.”
Faye asked with a smile, “Would you like some?”
Abbot scratched his hair and declined with a smile. “No, thanks. This is bought for Colin and it contains your love for him. I’m afraid that Colin will get mad at me if I eat it.”
He then walked to the bedside, reached out to pat Colin’s shoulder, and said, “Since Faye is back, I’ll excuse myself. Call me if you have any problem.”
Colin replied, “Fuck off.”
