Stephen knew very well that Simona's heart belonged to him, but he had to make her completely his today.
"I like everything you ordered, so let's stick to that," Stephen said.
Simona nodded. "Alright."
After a few minutes, Simona took a few sips of water as she gathered her courage and said, "Stephen, can we talk?"
She had thought about it for a long time and realized she might have been too impulsive before.
Stephen nodded, looking at Simona with a gentle gaze, as if she was the only person in his world. "What do you want to talk about?"
"You know I don't have many close family members besides my brother. And I still don't know much about your family. Can you tell me about them?" Simona tried to make her tone sound casual.
It seemed that when women were with someone they liked, they became cautious. Her current demeanor was so different from before.
She used to ask whatever she wanted directly and had a fiery temper. When she was with Caleb, she would speak her mind freely. But now that she had grown up, she was more timid.
It must be because she really cared about Stephen.
Stephen's expression shifted slightly. He hadn't expected Simona to suddenly ask about this.
In their usual interactions, he was careful not to mention his family much, giving the impression that he was somewhat self-conscious about it. This made it difficult for others to ask questions.
And up until now, Simona had never brought it up, likely because she was afraid of making him uncomfortable. Yet now, she had taken the initiative.
He had a big family, but they were very poor.
