Joe watched Skylar, who still looked a bit dazed, and simply replied, "Just passing by."
"What a coincidence," she remarked, the irony of their encounter hanging in the air. Anyone would find it hard to believe they weren't meant to cross paths.
Joe leaned against his car, gazing at the lake before them, lost in thought. After a moment, he asked, "What are you doing here?"
"I was visiting an elder this morning. I'm just on my way back," Skylar replied honestly.
Though the road was relatively empty, a few cars and people passed occasionally. It was surprising that both of them had chosen to stop there.
Skylar felt more confident now. Joe would surely remember their past together, and they would fall in love again.
Suddenly, she felt optimistic.
Joe couldn't take his eyes off Skylar's face.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Skylar asked, puzzled.
His stare was intense, and she couldn't shake the feeling that he might have regained some memories.
Joe finally looked away, his tone serious. "Are you trying to seduce me by sending me those photos?"
So, he was staring at her because of the pictures she had sent earlier.
Skylar smiled, her mood brightening. "I didn't edit the photos, so you can relax. If you want to say I'm trying to seduce you, that's fine. Did those pictures spark any memories?"
In truth, she had forgotten when those two pictures were taken. Ever since they had gotten together, they had been perfectly in sync in bed.
