Rosa was shocked to see that Skylar had returned to Jipsburg too. The realization that Joe and Skylar were living together was jarring.
No wonder Joe had been so cold and indifferent toward her.
It seemed they had made a plan to come back to Jipsburg together and stay in the villa. Luckily, Rosa had someone check and find out where Joe had lived in Jipsburg before the car accident.
She had come with high hopes, but now she was faced with this scene.
"Did you sleep together? Did you just get out of bed? Ned, how could you betray me like this?" Rosa couldn't hold back her jealousy any longer, her words dripping with anger as she confronted Joe.
The jealousy in her gaze was directed at Skylar, and she felt a burning desire to eliminate her. Skylar frowned. Since Rosa had found her way here, it meant she understood that Joe was aware of his identity.
"Did you forget what I told you at the airport?" Joe replied coldly, his voice laced with an icy intensity that sent shivers down Rosa's spine, abruptly waking her from her rage.
In truth, she had forgotten some things. Her fierce questioning instantly shifted to a nervous tone. "Ned, only in the last few days did I realize I've been deceiving myself for three years, thinking you had changed after the car accident.
"We've leaned on each other during this time, and I love you even more now. You are still my Ned, and you promised to take care of me for life. Don't you remember?"
Her words were an admission of the truth.
"If I were Ned, I would keep my promise. But who I am now, you know better than anyone," Joe retorted coldly.
With that statement, he laid bare the lies Rosa had been telling herself.
Rosa's face paled further as her nervousness became palpable. "I… I…"
She had known since she was called to the hospital after the car accident that Joe was not Ned. The watch on his wrist and the clothes he wore were high-end brands she recognized from magazines.
