Skylar nodded. "Alright."
Alexander looked at Skylar's calm demeanor and realized he might have gotten too worked up just now.
After all, compared to Skylar, she was the one who had the most reason to be angry. As for him, he was merely disgusted by Kevin's twisted behavior and attitude.
But for Skylar, it was different. She had become an inescapable part of Kevin's deranged schemes, trapped in his mess with no way out.
As soon as the phone connected, both Alexander and Gloria sighed heavily at the same time.
Gloria started first. "Did Skye tell you everything?"
Alexander replied, "Yes, she did. Can you believe Kevin? He's completely insane. He wants to mold Skylar into something, but did he even consider her feelings?
"And now that she's pregnant, he actually had the nerve to show up and say all that nonsense about her not keeping her own child. He's more unhinged than he was decades ago!"
Gloria sighed deeply.
Alexander clenched his teeth. "So, what do we do next? Are we just going to let him get away with everything he's done? After all the horrible things he's caused?"
Gloria replied solemnly, "Some things are too complicated, and there's no solid proof linking him directly to the deaths. Besides, he's terminally ill. He won't be around much longer, which I supposed is his own kind of retribution."
Alexander seethed, "It's far too easy for him. A man like that shouldn't even exist in this world. If he has to die, it shouldn't be so simple or painless."
They both fumed with anger toward Kevin, but they knew that venting wouldn't solve anything, given their age and the reality of life. It only provided temporary relief for the fury boiling inside.
In the end, they would still have to face the chaos head-on. They had weathered many storms over the years and knew all too well that certain matters couldn't be easily unraveled.
