The morning sun shone brightly, and many elderly folks and young people were already out exercising in the park.
Stephen hadn't returned to campus since deciding to take a break from university. Instead, he had been living at Rosa's house.
The two of them were now officially living together.
However, Stephen only pretended to be delighted about their cohabitation and advancing their relationship. Deep down, he still couldn't let go of Simona.
Ever since starting university, Stephen had meticulously observed those who liked him, analyzed who was worth his time, and carefully selected Simona.
He hadn't yet achieved everything he wanted, but now they had broken up.
No matter how much he tried to talk to or explain things to her, she refused to listen. Her cold and resolute attitude left him feeling even more resentful.
After running for a few miles, Stephen sat down to rest.
Suddenly, someone sat beside him. That person then said, "I can tell you're at the most difficult point in your life right now. Do you want to turn everything around?"
Stephen turned to look at the man beside him.
He was impeccably dressed in a suit, completely out of place among those out exercising in the morning. It seemed as though he was waiting there specifically for Stephen.
Stephen narrowed his eyes, suspiciously sizing up the man. "Who are you?"
"It doesn't matter who I am. What matters is that I can help you. Do you believe me?" the man asked in a deep voice.
Stephen frowned. "Who exactly are you? You say you can help me—do you even know what I'm going through?"
"You're being harassed online, and your girlfriend has abandoned you, isn't that right? You worked hard to pursue her, only to be blindsided when she left you without a second glance as soon as trouble arose. Am I wrong?"
