Skylar's smile faltered as she noticed something off in Harvey's tone. He didn't sound as cheerful as usual.
"Are you feeling out of place after suddenly graduating and leaving campus? Missing your classmates? Joe and I are at the hot spring resort. Why don't you join us for some fun?"
Joe, overhearing the invitation, raised an eyebrow at Skylar's suggestion. He thought, "Wouldn't Harvey be third-wheeling?"
If Harvey was truly that oblivious, Joe wouldn't hesitate to show him just how "impressive" he could be.
Harvey sighed, tugging at his hair in frustration. "No, it's not that. Someone came by earlier, and said he was Dad."
Skylar's smile disappeared entirely at his words. Without saying anything else, she stood up and walked out of the hot spring pool.
Noticing the change in Skylar's demeanor, Joe realized Harvey's call was far from just a casual chat. It wasn't about being a third wheel.
"What did he say to you?" Skylar asked with a serious tone.
A few days ago, Steven and Charles had mentioned that Finn had reached out to them. He seemed intent on reconnecting, wanting to rekindle a father-son relationship.
But when it came to Finn's sudden return, they all shared the same thought—no one showed up without a reason. Finn's unexpected visit clearly had a purpose, though he hadn't revealed what it was.
A few months ago, they had learned that Finn was in Jipsburg, but out of respect for Janine's life, they decided to pretend they didn't know.
Originally, they believed Finn's disappearance years ago was due to amnesia. But later, they discovered he had been using his real name the entire time.
With his return and sudden attempt to contact them, it was clear that memory loss was no longer a plausible explanation. Finn had ignored the advice from Steven and Charles and had secretly reached out to Harvey.
Charles, always sharp, could sense something was off from Skylar's tone. "Skylar, you don't seem surprised that Dad is still alive."
