Chapter 775
The atmosphere was as tense as a battlefield.
Natalie hadn’t anticipated running into Jeremy. Since their divorce, they had hardly interacted. The last time they crossed paths, she could feel the widening gap between them. But now, seeing Jeremy again, it was as if she had done something wrong.
It felt like they were still married.
It took her a moment to remember that they were already divorced. Following Jeremy’s gaze, she glanced over.
To an outsider, it might have seemed like she had an intimate relationship with Austin. In truth, she was merely helping Austin steady himself. But there was no point in explaining–it would only make things more awkward.
She forced a small, polite smile and greeted them, “What a coincidence. Are you here for dinner too?”
Jeremy’s lips twitched slightly. His eyes were locked on Natalie, but he said nothing.
Then, his gaze shifted to Austin. Despite being slightly tipsy, Austin met Jeremy’s stare with a calm demeanor.
The silent exchange of glances between them was so intense that even Skylar, standing behind them, felt something was off.
Just then, another person arrived as the elevator doors began to close again.
Skylar broke the tension, “The elevator doors are closing.”
Natalie’s face was slightly pale as she addressed Austin, “Mr. Powell, let’s head out.”
Austin responded gently, “Alright, let’s go.”
As they stepped out of the elevator, Austin gave Jeremy a nod as a polite

The car’s atmosphere was oddly silent. No one spoke. Skylar focused the road, not thinking much of it.
Through the rearview mirror, she noticed Austin watching Natalie. appeared lost in thought.
The car’s interior was dim, lit only by passing streetlights.
It was difficult to gauge Austin’s thoughts as he stared at Natalie
Skylar sensed something unusual. Austin’s gaze at Natalie didn’t resemble that of a boss toward an employee. It seemed more like a man watching woman he cared about, with a hint of possessiveness.
The realization startled Skylar.
When the light turned red, she glanced at Natalie again. Natalie was still somewhat distant. Earlier, Jeremy’s silence at the restaurant had been unsettling.
When the light turned green, Skylar checked on Austin again. He had closed his eyes, resting.
