Chapter 790
They looked like a match made in heaven.
Although it was only a picture, Joe could see the sparks flying between them.
Joe’s fingers tightened around his phone. He bit back the impulse to throw his phone at the wall.
They hadn’t gotten a divorce yet, but Skylar was running to Aiken already. Was she this needy and desperate?
This explained why Aiken was even more panicked than Joe when Skylar was kidnapped. He’d been eyeing her from the start!
Jenny was distracted as she ate her fondue. She kept glancing at her
phone.
Her colleagues in the same department had decided to eat together at this restaurant. Jenny wasn’t feeling quite well yet, but she ignored the discomfort and came out with her colleagues anyway. She was afraid they might notice. something and spread scandalous rumors about her.
Who knew she’d run into Skylar?
Jenny purposely took a picture with Skylar and Aiken in the frame only.
She felt like Aiken harbored some romantic intentions toward Skylar, but wasn’t sure whether it was merely a figment of her imagination. Jenny had seen Aiken interact with other women. He wasn’t as eager or as friendly with
them.
She had a few friends who’d slept with him before. They said he wasn’t a considerate lover in bed. However, he was generous. Aiken was a heartless man, whether in bed or out of it.
Yet, after Jenny’s meticulous observation, she noticed that Aiken was all
smiles whenever it came to Skylar.
What did it mean when a man treated a woman well? He had ulterior motives toward her. If he wasn’t doing so for the money, he probably wanted her. Aiken didn’t need money from her. This meant he was eyeing Skylar herself.
Although Jenny didn’t want to admit it, Skylar was gorgeous. Most men
thought so too.
This picture would definitely cause Joe to misunderstand Skylar.
“Jenny, what are you looking at? You seem distracted. You’ve been in low spirits for the past few days. Have you fallen sick?” asked one of her male colleagues, Calum Pince.
Jenny said, “I’ve been feeling a little under the weather this week.”
“If we’d known you were feeling sick, we would’ve gone for something milder. A fondue is still a bit too intense for the tastebuds. You’ve only eaten a few bites.”
Jenny smiled and shook her head. She replied, “There’s no need for that.”
“I’ll go to a neighboring store and get you some chicken noodle soup,” he suggested. He was a chivalrous gentleman. When Calum saw Jenny looking so weak, he wanted to help her.
“Um, I can’t trouble you like that. I’m not quite hungry. It’s alright,” simpered Jenny. She enjoyed being fussed over. She knew that he had ulterior motives. However, she didn’t refuse his help firmly. Instead, she exhibited her vulnerabilities.
“It won’t be an issue. I’ve tried their chicken noodle soup. It tastes delicious and is easily digestible. You don’t have to worry about putting on weight.”
He set off immediately.
