“Are you sure you won’t let me in? In this case, Jenny, this is the last time I’m coming to find you. You’re on your own now,” Rowan said impatiently. 

As expected, she caused just as much trouble as she used to. He must’ve had a seizure. Why else would he come over to see her?

Edwin moved suddenly while she was distracted. She couldn’t help but whimper. 

Upon hearing the noise, Rowan noticed that something was off. He asked with a frown, “Jenny, what’s going on?” 

Jenny wiped the sweat off her brow and squeezed out, “Leave, just leave me alone! I would like to rest at home in peace.” 

Rowan chuckled. He said, “Alright.” Then, he turned to leave. 

When he arrived downstairs, Rowan looked up. Suddenly, he saw a man looking down at him. Jenny stayed on the tenth floor. Thus, Rowan couldn’t see him clearly. However, he felt as though he’d seen the man somewhere. 

Rowan laughed mockingly. She hadn’t been home alone. 

Perhaps the rumors he’d heard had some element of truth to them. Jenny had been surrounded by men for the past few years. 

Sometimes, he could only let things go once he saw it with his own eyes. 

Rowan chuckled once more and strode away. 

The next day, Skylar and Caleb arrived at the airport. They passed through the baggage checks and waited to board the plane. 

They were carrying precious antiques with them. Thus, they needed to be extremely careful. 

Initially, the plane was supposed to board in half an hour. However, it was delayed. They had to wait for 30 minutes more.

“I called Mr. Yates Senior just now and told him the plane would be departing. late. When we get there, the night would’ve fallen,” Caleb told Skylar. He’d just come back from the washroom and sat down. 

Caleb had been looking forward to their trip. He and Skylar were going out 

alone, and just thinking about it lifted his spirits. 

Skylar nodded and said, “Alright, let’s take a break.” 

Caleb looked around. The airport was crowded no matter what hour it was. Skylar still managed to read despite the racket around them. Caleb couldn’t do so. He pulled his phone out and began chatting with some friends. 

Half an hour later, the boarding gate finally opened. They’d only been sat in their seats for a few minutes when Caleb exclaimed, “Oh shit!” 

Skylar raised an eyebrow and asked, “What’s up?” 

“You’ve got an extremely close relationship with Joe. Is he going with us?” Caleb felt like all his expectations for the trip had been destroyed. 

He was willing to go out with Skylar alone. However, he couldn’t cope with Joe being with them. 

Skylar followed the direction of Caleb’s gaze and met Joe’s eyes. 

Joe had come in with Paul. They had just boarded the plane and hadn’t had the time to sit down. 

Surprise flickered in Joe’s eyes upon catching sight of Skylar. However, his expression remained unchanged. He still looked extremely haughty. It was as though Skylar was the last person he wanted to see.
