Joe said, "The Ruell family has been facing a series of incidents recently, which seems suspicious. I just subtly inquired, and it turns out Mr. Ruell Senior has a penchant for collecting various antique paintings. Could their recent troubles be related to these antiques?"
Skylar replied coldly, "Yes, their issues are indeed related to negative items."
"If that's the case, I'll let them know," Joe said promptly.
Skylar continued, "If they need me to handle their family's situation, I have two conditions. First, Vera must come to me and beg for my help. Second, they need to transfer 20 million dollars in advance. I'm arriving at my stop now, so I'll hang up."
Skylar immediately ended the call after saying that. However, it was indeed true that she had arrived at her stop.
As for Joe's reaction to her demands, she wasn't concerned.
Joe stared at his phone, slightly stunned. Her two demands…
Ten minutes later, Joe appeared once again in Denton's ward.
"You…" Vera's eyes gleamed with a victorious light when she saw Joe leave and then return.
She had been right. Skylar was no match for her, and Joe's earlier conversation in the elevator was just a test of wills.
Vera felt unsettled thinking about how she had been at a disadvantage in front of Skylar earlier.
"Joe, is there something you need?" Denton asked weakly.
To the older generation, Joe was seen as a person who achieved great things and was known for his cold and unapproachable demeanor. Denton was surprised to see him return after his visit earlier.
He wondered if Joe's return was because of Vera.
In Jipsburg City, there were indeed very few people who could compare to Vera.
Joe said, "Mr. Ruell Senior, I need to speak with you privately."
Denton's face brightened at the request. He remembered how firm Joe's attitude had been in front of the Martin family at the Avalon Residence, and now Joe was requesting a private discussion.
