Chapter 919
The pen had struck an acupuncture point on Christopher’s hand.
Skylar immediately felt a wave of dizziness, her strength draining instantly. She couldn’t let Christopher
touch her.
His face twisted in pain as blood oozed from his hand. Seeing Skylar slumped by the bed’s edge, barely conscious, it was clear the effort had nearly sapped her completely.
“You’ve crossed the line. You’ve never done this to me before. Look at my hand–it’s bleeding, and it really hurts. Babe, just cooperate with me. I promise I won’t hurt you again, be a good girl,” Christopher coaxed, his patience wearing thin.
Skylar remained motionless, her eyes closed as she rested.
When Skylar didn’t respond, Christopher assumed she’d given in. He quickly moved closer and lifted her into his arms.
Skylar felt utterly powerless. She attempted to struggle, but her movements were so weak that they were almost imperceptible.
“You’ll regret this…” she said through gritted teeth, her voice weak.
Christopher was momentarily taken aback by Skylar’s cold, hateful gaze, but then greed took over him. “If I don’t do this, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life. You were always meant to be mine.”
Christopher yanked off Skylar’s outer jacket with one hand and began to unfasten her pants.
Just as he was pulling them down to her knees, the doorbell rang. The incessant ringing felt like a death knell.
Christopher’s eyes were bloodshot. He was on the edge of losing control. He tried to ignore it, but the persistent knocking, followed by the sound of someone attempting to unlock the door, made him pause. This apartment had seen frequent break–ins. Christopher glanced at Skylar, pale and murderous, and felt a jolt of fear. He couldn’t explain why he was suddenly afraid. But he quickly shook it off as paranoia. Even if Joe was skilled, he couldn’t possibly find this place.
“I’ll see who’s stupid enough to break in. Wait for me,” Christopher muttered, striding toward the door, not bothering to dress. He peered through the peephole, but it was blocked. Frowning, he yelled, “Someone’s here! Did you come to the wrong place? Leave now or I’ll call the police!”
After threatening the unknown visitor, Christopher returned to the room.
Skylar was trying to crawl away. He frowned and snapped, “Stop struggling. What’s the point? Do you hate the idea of being close to me that much? Didn’t you always say you loved me?
