Tremaine stood up.
There were dark eyebags under his eyes.
"Madam Quartley, there is no need to continue investigating," Tremaine replied.
He sounded terribly hoarse, as though he was the one who had been poisoned.
Hearing Tremaine's words, Madam Quartley became agitated. She even ignored that Tremaine's voice was so hoarse.
She said, "Tremaine, what are you talking about? This is your son, your own son! He nearly died of poisoning, so what do you mean you won't investigate? Is this what a father should say?"
"Madam," Tremaine explained, "Yesseca and I are over."
Madam Quartley was taken aback.
"We are completely over. Yesseca has been asked to leave Nashaland. She cannot come back here."
Hearing Tremaine's words, Madam Quartley was shocked.
The relationship between Tremaine and Yesseca was over?
Yesseca had been banned from coming back to Nashaland?
After her disbelief disappeared, Madam Quartley took a step forward and glared at Tremaine, "It's because she poisoned Montez, isn't it? That was why you drove her out of Nashaland! You just found a different way to protect her!"
Tremaine's handsome face was dark. "Madam Quartley, I don't want to talk about anything else. You just need to understand that she and I are over. Let's pretend that she never existed here in Quartley Palace. Whatever happened to Montez is over now."
Madam Quartley had multiple conflicting emotions in her heart.
Tremaine had made it clear. Yesseca had tried to kill Montez. In fact, she would not have wanted to let Yesseca go without consequences, but now since Tremaine had put it this way...
He was willing to split with Yesseca.
They'd tried so many ways to sway Tremaine, up to and including the people of Nashaland and from the President's office, but it hadn't worked. Madam Quartley had felt that there was no way that they would be separated, but now Tremaine had willingly left Yesseca.
Now, Yesseca was banned from entering
Nashaland. The most important thing was that Montez was fine now.
Five minutes later, Madam Quartley made up her mind.
Since Tremaine was really willing to break up with Yesseca, it was impossible for Yesseca to come to Nashaland in the future. Then, this matter could be settled.
Madam Quartley stared into Tremaine's eyes and said, "Tremaine, let me ask you again, are you sure that you and Yesseca are completely over? There is no chance that you will get back together with her?"
Tremaine lowered his voice. "Madam Quartley, when have I ever gone back on my words?"
"You have always cherished that woman deeply. That is why I have my doubts," Madam Quartley added.
Tremaine didn't speak.
After a moment, he suddenly sighed, his sigh carrying a hint of sorrow. He said, "Madam Quartley, it's over. What is in the past is in the past."
He had indeed been willing to do anything for Yesseca, even sacrifice his own life.
But Montez was a line he would not let anyone cross.
No matter how much he loved a woman, he could not let her hurt his son.
What's more, in addition to hurting Montez, there was one more thing that had completely chilled his heart.
That was Kylin.
Yesseca had said that she did not mind Qiana's arrival, yet she said something completely different to Kylin, even crying to him.
Also, she had gone out frequently recently. Was it also related to Kylin?
Was this Kyi in's first time at Nashaland, or had he been here many times?
Perhaps they had met up privately on many occasions, and this was the first time that Yesseca had missed their meeting. That was why Kylin came to look for her at Quartley Palace.
