Although Qiana had been very cordial to her since they met, Ruth didn't like her for some reason.
She could never forget the scene when she saw Qiana's cold eyes staring at the window of the classroom.
Qiana stood up and said, "I won't bother you anymore, Ruth. Take care of yourself. After all, brother Zorion is always worrying about you."
Qiana deliberately emphasized the last sentence.
In the end, Ruth couldn't hold it in any longer and asked, "How's Mr. Zorion doing?"
"Very... good." Qiana seemed to want to say something but stopped on second thought.
Ruth's heart skipped a beat.
She said, "Is he not well?"
Qiana laughed and said, "It's nothing bad. He just often daydreams and says that no one plays with him." After a pause, Qiana looked at Ruth and added, "Do you know that it was his birthday yesterday?"
Ruth nodded without hesitation, saying, "Of course I do."
Qiana's face remained calm, but her heart was slightly rattled.
Ruth had been away from the Quartley palace for so long, but she still remembered Zorion's birthday. As expected, she had a crush on Zorion.
And it seemed that her feelings were not as shallow as she had expected before.
At first, Qiana thought that Ruth was a humble servant after hearing about the incident. She'd thought that she wanted to use Zorion to upgrade her own social status. But now, after seeing Ruth and talking to her, Qiana felt that this was not the case.
She could tell that Ruth sincerely cared about Zorion.
Could Ruth like Zorion truthfully?
The bold idea flashed through Qiana's mind, and then she sneered in her heart. She didn't expect that there was someone who would like that fool.
Qiana didn't say anything and just sighed heavily.
Ruth became even more anxious upon seeing this.
She said, "What's wrong? Can you tell me? Did something happen? Did Mr. Zorion have a hard time on his birthday?"
Qiana said reluctantly, "Since I entered the Quartley palace, I've always felt that he was unhappy. I thought that he would be very happy on his birthday last night, but turned out he was upset as well. Do you know why he didn't sleep at night? He actually stood on the rooftop, out in the cold wind!"
Ruth's heart almost tightened when she heard that.
What!
On his birthday last night, Mr. Zorion had actually stood on the rooftop in the cold wind?
"Later, when I saw him, I had a chat with him. He told me that he was very lonely, and Ruth, he actually missed you very much." Qiana looked at Ruth with a complicated face and said, "That's why I came to see you today."
The scene of the cold wind blowing at Zorion on the rooftop was still floating in her mind. Her heart was in pain as if it was being cut by a knife.
"By the way, aren't you leaving, Ruth? Let's go now," Qiana suddenly said.
Ruth was in a trance. She followed Qiana out of the apartment in a daze.
At the door of the apartment, Qiana said to Ruth, "Then I'll get going."
Ruth did not react at all.
Qiana glanced at Ruth's lower abdomen again and was about to leave. However, before she could take a few steps, she was stopped by Ruth, who said, "Miss Lanes, please wait."
Qiana turned around and asked, "Is there anything else?"
Ruth said in a pleading tone, "Can you wait for me here for a while, Miss Lanes? I'll be back in ten minutes."
"Okay," Qiana agreed immediately.
Ruth immediately ran downstairs.
When her figure disappeared, Qiana immediately took out her mobile phone and made a phone call.
