Celine was shocked and jumped at the sudden act.
She shouted at the top of her voice, "What are you doing! You want to rebel, don't you?"
Preslie stopped holding back her anger and said, "Yeah, I want to rebel!"
Preslie rushed to the door of the kitchen.
Celine shouted, "Calter, come and have a look! Look at what your daughter wants to do!"
Calter came over with a teacup in his hand and stopped Preslie from leaving. He glanced into the kitchen and his face darkened. "You haven't finished cooking. Where do you want to go?"
Preslie said, "Want something to eat? Cook it yourself!"
Calter glared at her. "What are you talking about? It's your responsibility since you want to stay home."
Preslie's eyes were full of tears. "I knew that you'd be unhappy when I came back from Nashaland, so I wanted to be responsible for the housework and cook while I’m at home. I didn't even complain, but how did you treat me? You scold and complain about me every day. You've never once been kind to me!"
"People say that home is the warmest harbor we have, but I've felt terrible ever since I came back from Nashaland. I want some warmth from my own home too, but this is not a safe harbor, this is hell. This home is toxic, I don't want to stay here anymore!"
When she worked with the government, her parents made a sudden 180-degree turn to make her feel so good that she had an illusion. She thought her parents loved her and that she could get some comfort when she came back.
In the end, however, she was wrong.
Her parents had never loved her. They only loved her when they did all because of her job!
Having enough, she strode to the door.
She didn't want to stay here anymore!
She would rather be wandering on the streets than return to this wicked home.
Seeing that Preslie was about to leave, Calter was about to stop her when Celine screamed, "Let her go! Just let her go! Staying at home is a shame for us! At least we have Amelia at home. Recently, she got a rich boyfriend. I don't know how much we can save face from her. We don't need to care about the other disappointment anymore!"
Calter thought about it and stopped.
Just as Preslie was about to reach the door, there was a sudden knock on the door.
Preslie opened the door.
A person stood before her.
He was a tall guy wearing a military uniform, looking noble and handsome.
Preslie was stunned.
It was Sheldon.
Preslie's parents in the living room were also awestruck.
Isn't that the general of Nashaland?
"Mr. Hawls." Preslie was stunned, and soon, her eyes became watery and tears were about to fall.
She had just quarreled with her parents, but when she saw Sheldon, she suddenly felt particularly wronged.
She felt a little impulsive.
She really wanted to throw herself into Sheldon's arms and cry.
In the end, she suppressed the thought.
After all, Sheldon wasn't her boyfriend. Why should she throw herself into his arms?
Sheldon was also shocked to see Preslie.
It had been a long time since he had seen her. She looked much skinnier and her face was pale. Sheldon felt bad when he saw her red- rimmed eyes.
"Preslie, what happened to you?" Sheldon couldn't help asking.
Calter and Celine rushed up before she could reply.
The cold face that was just facing Preslie became exceedingly enthusiastic. "Isn't this Mr. Hawls? Come in and have a seat. I'll ask her father to bring you some tea. We're honored to have you here. What brings a great general like you here?"
