Yesseca didn't think so.
She said, "Your parents are spewing nonsense. If it was Amelia, Mr. Hawls wouldn't have even sent her home!"
A glimmer of light flashed across Preslie's eyes. "Really?"
Yesseca nodded heavily. She said with certainty, "Of course, Mr. Hawls did not take advantage of you not because of your looks, but because he is a true gentleman. He would never do anything to a woman who is drunk."
Preslie's mood which was previously glum suddenly improved.
She couldn't help but smile. "Yesseca, you're right. Mr. Hawls is a true gentleman."
Seeing how happy Preslie was, Yessca suddenly felt something wasn't quite right.
She got closer to Preslie and said, "Preslie, why do I feel that you wanted Mr. Hawls to do something to you? Do you...?"
It was not appropriate for Yesseca to say too much, so she merely raised her eyebrows.
Preslie's face turned red. She stammered and said, "It's not like that, Yesseca. I don't want Mr. Hawls to do anything to me, it's just that, no woman wants to be thought of as fat and ugly in the eyes of others."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure." Preslie sounded a little weak.
Yesseca heaved a sigh of relief.
It occurred to Yesseca that if Preslie did have feelings for Sheldon, it would be her fault. After all, she was the one who brought Preslie back to Agaphen City.
Sheldon returned Tremaine's call.
Tremaine just made a sound signaling his agreement and without saying anything, he remained on the line.
After a moment of silence, Sheldon could not help asking, "Mr. Tremaine, is there anything else?"
Tremaine then said, "You mentioned that Yesseca's bakery is opening today?"
"Yes, Mr. Tremaine. That's what Preslie said."
