"Don't worry." Yesseca's eyes flashed with a ray of light. "No problem can't be solved. We can't run away just because we encounter a small hindrance. There will be more challenges for us to face. How will we keep the business up if we can't even settle such a small problem?"
With that, she held Preslie's hands, her voice soft yet resolute, "Didn't you say you want to be a lady boss? The path to becoming one is hard, and only when we're strong can we achieve it. Don't you agree?"
Preslie's heart was broken from the ruckus her parent caused. She fell into a pit of despair, thinking there were no hopes for her in the future.
However, Yesseca's words were like a slither of light in the darkness, guiding her out.
Though dim, it still gave her a sense of hope.
She wiped her tears away and said firmly, "You're right, Yesseca! I can't back down just because of such a small matter!"
That evening, Yesseca had Preslie stay at home alone, saying she wanted to take a trip to her sister's.
She hailed a taxi after coming out of the house.
But the destination wasn't the Perry residence but Preslie's home.
About twenty minutes later, she arrived at Preslie's home.
She knocked on the door.
Salter answered it.
He was chewing on a piece of steak.
Seeing Yesseca, he was stunned for a moment and immediately swallowed the beef in his mouth.
"Why are you here? Are you here to give us shares?" he asked.
Yesseca didn't answer.
Thinking it was a yes, he smiled and invited her inside, "Come in. You haven't had dinner, have you? You can eat with us. Preslie's mom cooked up a feast!"
Entering, Yesseca couldn't help feeling bad for her good friend.
Preslie was already so upset with what was happening, yet her so-called parents were still in the mood to feast away. How much more cold-hearted could they get?
Was Preslie even their daughter?!
Calter called Celine over when Yesseca entered the living room.
Yesseca didn't waste any time and went straight to the point. "I won't give you the shares! I won't give you even 1%, let alone forty. The patisserie is Preslie and my baby. We will never let another person get involved."
Hearing that, Calter and Celine's faces turned grim.
Calter, who had just invited Yesseca to dinner, said with a straight face, "We won't rest unless you give us the shares! Preslie has contributed so much to the store, so what if we asked for a slice of the cake? If you see Preslie as a friend, you should give us the shares!"
Celine immediately added, "That's right! You must be taking advantage of Preslie. I'm warning you, Preslie may be a pushover; we're not!"
Yesseca said, "I won't give you the shares no matter what you say. But I can give you half a million. If you take it, never bother Preslie ever again!"
Yesseca did some calculations on her ride over. According to how much they're currently earning, it'd only take half a year to make half the million.
