Tremaine very slowly drove up to her home.
He had never driven a car this slow before.
They didn't say anything to each other in the car.
But just being in the same car as Yesseca was enough for him.
He hoped that this drive would never end.
He would drive down this road forever,
With Yesseca, sitting next to him.
But that was just a foolish fantasy.
No matter how slow he drove the car, he would eventually reach their destination.
Tremaine pulled up into Yesseca's home.
Yesseca opened the door and said, "Well, I should be going in now. You should head home as well."
Tremaine wanted to say something.
He had a thousand things to say to her, but try as he might, he couldn't utter a single word to her.
All he could manage was a simple, "Alright."
Yesseca was just about to close the door when she remembered something.
She turned back and asked, "By the way, did you ever find out who Montez's birth mother was?" "No," Tremaine replied softly.
"Is it difficult to find her?" She asked.
"I haven't been looking."
After the incident with Qiana, he wasn't interested in looking for Montez's birth mother at all.
Yesseca frowned.
Although it wasn't her business anymore, Yesseca insisted, "You should. Montez is still so young. He needs his mother by his side."
She recalled the time one of Montez's classmates insulted him for not having a mother. She couldn't allow that to happen again.
Tremaine couldn't refuse.
"Hmm," he simply replied.
"I'm going now."
"Okay."
Tremaine's eyes filled with pain as he watched her walk up the stairs and into her home.
He then realized that his entire life had been a colossal failure.
He thought he would never be interested in women in his entire life.
But in order to produce a successor for the Quartley family, he sought a solution that brought him Montez. But Montez would have to grow up without a mother.
That was his first mistake.
Then, he fell in love with Yesseca. But he ended up believing another woman's lie instead of her, ruining their relationship.
That was his second mistake.
