"Oh, right. My daughter misses her dad. When will Byron start being able to meet the kids by video?" Athena changed the topic.
There wasn't much point in talking about Rebecca anymore.
She had her plans in mind.
"He can make a video call anytime. But... Byron is going to start physical therapy tomorrow. He doesn't look good," Ennis said tactfully.
Athena's heart ached sharply.
"Just arrange it before physical therapy."
"Got it!"
The call ended.
Looking at the gradually darkening sky, Athena exhaled a long breath.
She then adjusted her emotions and returned to the living room to continue completing handwork with her daughter.
Mia suddenly threw away the small piece of wood in her hand as they were doing it.
"What's wrong?" Athena asked gently.
"I don't want to do it anymore. Mom, I want to go painting... for a few days. Can you ask for a vacation for me?" Saying that, she looked at Athena with tearful eyes.
"Mia, I made a deal with you before. It can only happen once a year." Athena said softly, pulling her daughter before her, "You can't ask for another leave after this time."
"Mmm."
Mia nodded slightly.
Athena caressed her cheek. "Mia, I know you miss Dad and are worried about him."
Mia burst into tears at this.
"I've spoken to the doctor. Just for the next two days, Dad will video call you. But you can't be like this." Athena's tone was still soft. "Dad loves you very much. Looking at you being sad and upset, he will be very worried. Maybe he won't treat his disease anymore. Do you want that to happen?"
"No." Mia cried and shook her head. "I want Dad to get well!"
"Yeah!" Athena nodded and wiped away Mia's tears. "Mia is so good!"
"Is Dad really going to make a video call? Isn't he missing?" The child finally asked the deepest concern in her heart.
Athena chuckled. "Of course, he's not missing! What are you thinking about?"
"That's good!" Mia went into Athena's arms and whispered, "Mom, don't worry. I'll behave well when I video with Dad. I won't let Dad worry!"
"Alright."
Athena gently patted Mia's butt. "So, are we still doing the handwork?"
"Yes!"
Mia whimpered for a while longer.
With walnut-like eyes, she finished the rest of her handwork with Athena.
Meanwhile, Rebecca got drunk at the bar and received a job offer.
Upon receiving the offer, Rebecca sobered up mostly. Then, a flood of joy came over her.
