"What's this?"
Byron asked in confusion.
"It's a cute kitten!" Mia replied, "Do you have a cat? Can you raise it for me?"
"Why don't you raise it yourself?" Byron asked.
Mia shook her head. "My brother is allergic to animal furs, and I hate to see this one become a stray cat. Byron..."
Mia raised her big eyes and looked at him pleadingly. "Can you adopt it? I'll give you my monthly allowance, so you can buy dried fish."
Byron smiled helplessly.
"I'll keep it for you, but you must promise me one thing, Mia. You will never run away without telling your family." He said in a harsher tone.
Mia nodded. "It won't happen again."
Byron glanced at the cat.
It was a skinny, bald kitten. Apparently, it wasn't very fit.
Suddenly, Byron received a text message from Aiden.
He took a look
and was a bit surprised.
Mia was allergic to eggplant. So was Byron.
"Mia, let us have lunch first and then take the kitten to the pet hospital for an examination." Byron looked at Mia.
"Okay!"
Mia was starving.
She had never been so hungry all her life.
Byron took Mia to the restroom and helped her wash up. He even tied up her hair clumsily.
"Byron..."
Seeing the ugly braid in the mirror,
Mia gave Byron a bitter glance.
After a while,
Mia returned to the Office of the President, where a pretty girl helped Mia braid her hair and cheered her up.
"Thank you, pretty lady."
