My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1109

I let him hold me, and my heart was filled with mixed feelings of joy and sorrow. I was really fortunate to survive.

I swore that I would never leave him again for the rest of my life. Those few minutes in that freezer, that moment of near death, the blood pumping in my veins had told me how wrong I had been to push him away from me. I never should have done that, I never should have argued unnecessarily with him.

It was pure luck that I could meet Hendrix during my short life.

"Hendrix!" I called out, and put my arms around his neck as I looked at him.

He answered and held me in his arms. His voice was a little hoarse, but there was intertwining joy and exhaustion in his eyes.

"I love you, very very much!" I said. From our first encounter till then, after ten years of marriage, I had never said those words to him. At that moment, I felt that if I didn't tell him, I would no longer have another opportunity to do so.

Either way, I couldn't let myself regret anything again.

He looked at me, his gaze meaningful. Then, he nodded, took a short breath, and kissed me on the forehead as he said, "I will never let you down."

I couldn't help but laugh. It was so nice to be alive.

Lying in his arms and enjoying the peace for a while, I suddenly remembered the day of the incident and couldn't help asking, "That day...what on earth happened?"

Who would want to kill me? I would have lost my life in less than two hours if I was kept longer in the freezer.

If Hendrix hadn't appeared in time, I would have died.

He hugged me and tightened his arms as he explained, "I was having a meal with Austin and the others when I received a call from Naomi. When I arrived at the hospital, I found that you were missing. Later, I checked the surveillance tapes and found that you had been taken away. There was no surveillance camera in the morgue, so I spent some time looking for you."
