My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1249

I nodded and said, "Alright, where are you guys? I'll be right there."

"No, no need. I'll bring some people over to Mr. Hayes' place later. Mr. Hayes had some questions he wanted to ask," Sheridan said. After that, he hung up the phone. I remained motionless. For a moment, my mind was buzzing and I felt a little dizzy.

Tobias came down from the stairs with his bathrobe on. He looked at me and said, "Judging from the way you look right now, I'm guessing you must have found out that Hendrix is dead. I've told you that already, but you didn't believe me. Now, hurry up and think about how to cooperate with the Hayes Family. Roberts Group is such a big business. A woman like you can't take over!"

I looked at him, and it seemed that he didn't take Hendrix's matter seriously at all. Seeing that he didn't seem to be upset at all, I didn't want to say a word. He was right, Hendrix was my husband. What does it have to do with him? Why did he need to worry about my husband's life?

Thinking of this, I felt relieved all of a sudden. Many things needed to be faced alone. No matter what kind of danger it was, it was the same. As for Hendrix's matter, only I could find it out by myself and only I could do it!

After a long sigh, I walked to the gate of the villa. Sheridan said that he would come over with the people who had abducted Hendrix.

"Hey, Miss Reid, are you out of your mind? It's so bright outside, why are you going out?" Tobias's voice sounded behind me. I ignored him and sat on the stairs at the gate of the villa waiting for Sheridan's car.

It was not long before Sheridan's car arrived. I walked towards it while Sheridan got out of the car. His two men also got out with another man dressed in black. The man was in a mess with a bloody nose and a swollen face. It seemed that he had been received a beating in advance.

Seeing me, Sheridan said, "Miss Reid, this is the head of the people who abducted Mr. Roberts that night."

I stared at the man and clenched my hands tightly. Although there was a lot of anger in my heart, I still held it back and ordered, "Thank you, Mr. Lawson. Take him in and grill him!"

Sheridan nodded and brought him into the villa.

Tobias sat idly on the sofa with his legs crossed. Looking at the man brought in by Sheridan, he raised his eyebrows and said, "Great. Even the head had also been brought here. As expected from the Moore family, it's really high efficiency. You have really impressed me!"

Sheridan raised his eyebrows and motioned his two men to bring the man in black directly to Tobias. He looked at Tobias and said, "Mr. Hayes, we've brought him here. Do you want us to leave while you talk to him?"

Tobias laughed and said, "No worries. You don't have to. I'll just ask a few questions. Miss Reid will be interrogating him later on. I'll get it done as soon as possible!"

Sheridan did not speak. He merely replied with a hum.

Tobias bent down and approached the man. He narrowed his eyes and said with a smile, "Hey man, since you're here, you need to answer whatever I ask you. Otherwise, you'll suffer a little physical pain or even accidentally lose your life. That'll be a big deal then."

"Mr. Hayes, are you threatening me?" the man asked. He looked at Tobias calmly. There wasn't a trace of fear on his face at all. He didn't have the manners of a criminal, though.

Tobias was not interested in his words at all. He shrugged his shoulders and said, "No, this ain't nothing. A lot of people in Oakland disappear every year. The police are too busy to tend to all these matters. People like you, who have no background and no other contacts except your parents and wife, your family will probably be implicated if someone kills you."
