"You... are despicable!" the man was clearly angered.
Tobias chuckled, looked at him, and said, "You seem to be a thug from the mainland. The benefactor over there should have treated you well."
The man was impatient and said coldly, "Just ask whatever you want to ask. There's no need to beat around the bush!"
Tobias raised his eyebrows and asked, "Well, I don't want to waste your time anymore. When did you guys come to Oakland?"
The man probably felt a little puzzled, so he answered, "The day before yesterday!"
Tobias hummed and leaned on the sofa lazily. He looked at me and said, "Well, I've finished asking my questions. Miss Reid, please go ahead!"
I couldn't help but frown. Was that all he wanted to question?
What was he trying to do this time?
I didn't understand what Tobias had in mind, so I glanced at Sheridan and asked, "Mr. Lawson, did he reveal where Hendrix is?"
Sheridan shook his head and replied, "I can't get any clues from him!"
I hesitated for a moment and walked to the kitchen. When I came out, I was holding a knife in my hand.
Tobias saw it and laughed out loud. "You're interesting, Miss Reid," he said.
