I pursed my lips. I had already promised to come to work and help him deal with these things. Since he had requested, there was no reason for me to refuse, so I simply agreed.
There was a promotion application among the pile of documents. I opened it and saw that it was from Estella. I looked through it carefully. The young lady's words seemed sincere and earnest. She described her requirements of Roberts Group and herself in detail over the years. I looked at the duration of her employment. She just started last year and didn't have any particularly outstanding performance in the past year. After mulling over it, I still didn't approve her application for promotion.
After a while, Hendrix finished his work. When he saw that I was reading the document, he took a look at Estella's application. He glanced at me and said, "There's no need to be so serious. You don't really need to consider those who don't meet the required duration and don't have any exceptional performance."
I nodded and stared back at him. "Have you been very busy recently?"
He raised his eyebrows. "Of course!"
I sighed and said, "These things used to be handled by the department directors. Now that you have to handle all this as well, it's no wonder that you are so busy. You can just look at some of the contributions of the managers and then think about it."
"There is a clear list of how to deal with it later. You can have a look!" He reminded me kindly. I was stunned for a moment and found the instructions at the back of the document. After looking through them, I found all the settings of the general managers and the senior managers.
So had I wasted my time going through all of them one by one? I smiled awkwardly and said, "Would you believe me if I told you I didn't see this?"
He pulled me up and said with a faint smile, "I believe you. Let's go. I'll just sign these and we'll be done."
I was suspecting that he'd wanted me to wait for him, and that's why he'd asked me to look at the list.
I followed Hendrix into the elevator and he pushed me up against the wall. "Aren't you going to reward me?"
I didn't realize that he had asked for any reward. I was stunned, "What reward?"
Taking in my confused look, he frowned, and there was a trace of displeasure on his handsome face. He let go of me like a child throwing a tantrum and stood aside.
It was not the first time for me to experience his childishness, so I leaned against him and kissed him lightly. Then I said, "If this still isn't enough, I'll compensate you later when we get home. What do you think?"
This man was easily coaxed. He let out a smile of satisfaction. He tilted his head to look at me and said, "That's not bad."
I pursed my lips and smiled. Remembering what happened to Nerissa, I couldn't help but ask, "Hendrix, my mother told me that she ran into your aunt at the hospital. She seems to be in love. Have you contacted her recently?"
He shook his head. "I've been busy recently. I'll visit her in a while. She's getting old and living alone. It's nice to have someone to accompany her."
I nodded in agreement. Nerissa had been with the Granger family for so many years. She had taken care of Yohannes, fought with Helen, and later had a dispute with Irvin. It seemed that she hadn't lived a life of her own for so many years. It was definitely a good thing that she found someone to spend the rest of her life with!
The elevator door opened and Hendrix pulled me out of the elevator. There was usually a lot of people in the lobby when it was time to get off work. No one was in a hurry to leave after work, but they were all at the front desk to join in the fun.
