I got up and walked to Yana and Ethan's side to chat with them. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to control my temper. I wasn't worried about that psychopath, Sebastian, but Naomi. She didn't have much experience in love. I was afraid that Sebastian would hurt her.
Yana handed me a peeled orange with a smile, "Why do you look so angry? Here, have a taste of this orange. It's very sweet."
I shoved a mouthful of orange into my mouth and found that it was really sweet. I couldn't help but agree, "It's indeed very sweet. By the way, is Carney at Uncle Charles' place today?"
Yana nodded. At the mention of Carney's name, she became somewhat depressed and said, "Aaron has hired a nanny and asked Carney to stay with Uncle Charles. I can only visit him occasionally."
I froze for a moment. I originally thought that Aaron would at least let Yana take care of her own child, "Carney is still young. Is he okay staying with his granduncle?"
She nodded, "Now that he doesn't need to drink breast milk anymore, it's fine."
Ethan looked at the time, but did not mention leaving. I reckoned that he had something to do. At the same time, Hendrix called.
"I'm downstairs. Come down!"
I agreed and hung up the phone. Then, I looked at Yana and said, "Let's go home. I'll tell Naomi that it's getting late."
Yana nodded and went into the bedroom with me to say goodbye to Naomi and the others. Wendy seemed to be in a better mood and wanted to send us off. I stopped her and told her to have a good rest.
We went downstairs together. Hendrix's car was parked at the gate of the community. Yana greeted him and left with Ethan. However, Sebastian slid his hands in his pockets and stood beside me. He said slowly, "I have witnessed you risking your life for Hendrix. I am looking forward to seeing what Hendrix will do when your life is threatened."
I frowned and didn't want to say a word to him. I walked straight to Hendrix. Hendrix was leaning against the car when he saw me rushing toward him. He pulled me into his arms and asked, "Is he here?"
He was referring to Sebastian. In his arms, I listened to the rhythm of his heartbeat and at that moment, I felt very safe. I then said, "Naomi called him over. She doesn't know what happened in Oakland."
Hendrix didn't say much. Sebastian had a sinister smile on his face as he stood and watched us from a distance. This man was too despicable. I always felt that he waiting around the corner, with a horrible scheme in store for us.
When we got in the car, I took Hendrix's hand and was unwilling to let go. He was a little helpless and could only drive with one hand. Catching sight of the watch on his left wrist, I was stunned and said, "When did you get this watch? I have never seen you wear it."
It wasn't an expensive watch. In fact, it was odd because Hendrix didn't own any other cheap watches like this.
He raised his eyebrows, "Didn't you give it to me?"
What he said confused me. I was a little surprised when I saw the big bouquet of flowers in the back seat, "Why is there a large bouquet of flowers in the car?"
He looked at me and said with a smile, "It's for you. I don't want you to think I was flaunting, so I didn't bring it out just now. But didn't you buy this watch for me?"
