I frowned. "You're good at giving orders, aren't you?" I said, grinning at him.
He cracked a smile. As he set the document down in front of me, he said, "Take a stroll outside, I don't want you to get bored."
I took the document and left the office. My stomach had been bloated of late. I guessed that it had something to do with my pregnancy. I was probably bloated because the fetus was developing.
In the finance department.
As I had been frequenting the office, most of the staff members were acquainted with me. Hence, they were not taken aback when they saw me. To my surprise, I bumped into Kelsey in the finance department. I could not remember the last time I saw her.
She seemed to have lost some weight. Her long hair was cut short, giving her a bold and tough look. She looked sophisticated in her outfit, but it was not that her clothes were expensive. Quite the contrary, they were not designer labels, but the color combination and styling were done so well that they lent an air of sophistication to her overall look. She looked like a corporate hotshot.
Our eyes met. "I didn't know you're in Jarold City," I said with a smile.
"I prefer Jarold City, since I'm based here after all. I’ m not used to traveling elsewhere." Kelsey replied, also giving me a polite smile.
I shrugged. "Right, I can tell," I said. "You look great!"
It was funny though. I had been frequenting this office building but had never bumped into her. I guessed it must be fate.
She tidied up the documents. She glanced at the Swiss watch on her wrist and said, "We'll get off work soon. Would you like to have dinner together?"
"I'm afraid I can’t," I said. " I don't really have time as I have some personal matters to attend to lately. Maybe some other time. Let's hang out another time."
