My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1382

The crying lady said, "What did I do wrong? She's the one who refuses to let go. It's obvious that Mr. Roberts would never take a liking to her. Oh come on, does she even realize that she pales in comparison to Mrs. Roberts? What makes her think that she can get what she wants just because she's close to Mr. Roberts? Duh, take a look into the mirror."

"That's enough. There's no point whining. You can' t stop her from doing what she's been doing. She did a good job looking after his three main meals of the day. Mr. Roberts has given her all the reward that she deserves."

The crying lady said, "Why isn't Mr. Roberts worried though, since Mrs. Roberts often drops by here? Hasn't she noticed anything wrong?"

The other lady replied, "Surely Mrs. Roberts would have noticed. But I guess she has been shrugging it off. Besides, it takes two to tango. If Mr. Roberts doesn't take a liking to her, no matter how powerful she thinks she is, she’ s just a buffoon. She won't be on top of the world for long."

The crying woman got angry. "She is a buffoon. Mr. Roberts has never taken her seriously. If it

wasn't for Mr. Hathaway, she wouldn't have been promoted. She took advantage of Mr. Hathaway's love for her. It was she who implored Mr. Hathaway to cajole Mr. Roberts into promoting her. How shameless!"

The other woman sighed and said, "Well, she can get anything at her whims and fancies. After all, she has power and influence now. Shy away from offending her. She'll get a taste of her own medicine eventually. We' re mere small potatoes and can't afford to offend her. Lest you forget, Vincent will do anything for her. We'll just have to wait and see."

"I've got an idea!" The woman was a little excited. She paused and whispered, "I don't think I want to put up with this any longer. Why should I take the bullying lying down time and time again? Well, not today, I'm going to make her pay for it."

"What are you up to?"

I could not hear anything as the voice had turned softer. At this moment, I was amused. In hindsight, I now understood why everyone had been giving me peculiar stares when I dropped by the office the past couple of days.
