My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1402

"She's that child I told you about earlier. Her name is Abby. Let her stay with us for a few days first," I said.

He nodded and said with a sigh, "You brought her here. Do you have any plans for the future?"

I shook my head. To be honest, I didn't know what to do. I never refused to bring her here just because I saw her parents' attitude toward Susan and the other children. I knew that with my limited ability, I would not be able to help them much. All I could do was to bring Abby away from that place.

When Hendrix saw the expression on my face, he didn't say anything more. Turning around, he headed into the kitchen and said, "Go and wash your hands. I've made some of your favorite dishes. Let's see if they suit your taste."

I was surprised when I heard that, and led Abby to the kitchen. Hendrix brought out the dishes that he left in the warmer and put them on the table. They were all my favorite. I took Abby to wash her hands and helped her get seated at the dining table.

My phone rang. It was a call from Pedro. I froze for a moment and then realized that Sheridan must have told him everything.

I answered the phone and said, "Dad, have you had dinner yet?"

He mumbled in reply and said, "Sheridan told me about the child you brought back. She is only five years old. I know that you are soft-hearted, but Anne's condition is deteriorating. The cancer cells are spreading quickly. If she doesn't have the operation as soon as possible, I'm afraid that all her internal organs will be damaged. At that point, we really have to exchange life for a life. Although the child is young, I have already discussed with your mother and we decided that we will bring her to Jarold City after the operation, and give her parents a sum of money. Your mother and I will raise her. With the Moore Family's wealth, we can afford to raise another child. If she gets ill in the future, we will treat her. Arianna, you can't be indecisive at such a critical moment!"

Pedro's words were right and reasonable. However, if I really did this, I would definitely feel guilty for this child for the rest of my life.

Seeing that I was staring blankly at the dining table, Hendrix waved his hand at me and asked, "What are you thinking about? Let's eat first!"

I nodded. Before we ended the call, Pedro added, "We will discharge Anne from the hospital tomorrow and bring her to Sleinport. Take good care of that child. We'll talk about it when we're there."

After he hung up the phone, I absentmindedly looked at Ab by, who was eating heartily, and instantly felt a little distressed. Hendrix put the tableware in front of me and reminded me again, "Eat more. Mr. Lawson said that you barely ate anything yesterday. You are going to be a mother soon, so you really need to take care of yourself."

I nodded. Upon hearing Hendrix's words, Abby gave me a sideways glance and asked cautiously, "Madam Reid, do you also have a baby inside your belly, just like my mother?"

I smiled, added some food to her bowl and replied, "Yes, there is also a baby inside my belly."

A child's world was very simple and innocent. They smiled when they were happy and cried when they were upset. I went back to my bedroom after tucking Abby in bed. Hendrix held me in his arms and asked, "How did you find that village?"

I paused for a moment because I had really forgotten to tell Hendrix about this. I had never told him about the business card that Sebastian gave me. I didn't know how to explain how I managed to get in touch with Bobbie out of the blue.

After thinking for a while, I said, "Dad told me about it. He asked Mr. Lawson to go with me."

He stared at me, and his gaze was as dark as the night. "Arianna, there is a need for mutual trust between husband and wife. This was what you said."
