My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1449

He had so many reminders to tell me. The longer he talked, the more reluctant I grew for him to leave. Hence, I held onto him even tighter than before. Eventually, the time came for him to board the plane. When Evan came over to give us a final reminder, only then did I grudgingly loosen my grip on him.

My eyes welled with tears as I watched him walk away. Before I could stop myself, I rushed towards him again and shouted at the top of my lungs, "Hendrix, you better come back as soon as you can! I'll be waiting for you!"

He turned back to look at me with a handsome smile on his face.

We must take every goodbye seriously as we never knew when we would meet again. After so many years, I couldn't help but wonder, if we never said goodbye, would we never have to wait?

After six hours of surgery, Anne's operation was a success. Not only that, but Abby had also reappeared after the surgery. What surprised me the most wasn't her sudden reappearance, but the fact that Susan was the one who took her away.

Looking at the sisters, I smiled faintly and said,

"Since you've made your choice, then we'll part ways from now on!" It made total sense. Abby was only a child, and her health would be greatly affected once she underwent the surgery. At least, this was the best outcome for everyone now.

Susan and Abby both bowed at me as a sign of gratitude before Susan started speaking, "Miss Reid, I know that you have helped us a lot, in every way you could. We shouldn't have bitten the hands that fed us. But Miss Reid, I'm really sorry for what I've done. I know it's not possible to ask for your forgiveness, but I can help you a little. You might want to take a look at the Emperor Club's basement. Perhaps it will be a piece of useful information for you. Other than that, Bobbie's superior was the one behind all of these. People like him must be eliminated, or else there will be more children being exploited like us in the future."

As soon as she finished her sentence, Susan then left hand- in- hand with Abby. I didn't ask them where they were headed. I knew that a hardworking girl like Susan would be able to land on her feet in this big city.

Pedro and I headed to the Emperor Club together after handing Anne over to Valerie. This nightclub belonged to Sebastian. I knew that if we stirred up trouble here, Sebastian wouldn't be able to deal with the incident at Oakland as effectively.

At the Emperor Club.

It was desolate during the daytime, with only a few morning shift receptionists guarding the lobby. As we entered, two girls came up to us with big smiles on their faces to provide us with their assistance.

We needed to distract these people. After a long discussion with Pedro, he then swiftly pressed on his stomach and started groaning in discomfort. Both the receptionists came forward with worry in their eyes.

I quickly said, "Miss, there should be a hotel right upstairs. My father and I are on a business trip. It wouldn't be easy for us to find a suitable hotel in such a short time. My father must be feeling exhausted from the long journey. It would be great if you could book us two rooms for the night. Is that possible?"

Both the receptionists were stunned for a moment and said hesitantly, "Yes, of course. But our hotel and nightclub are just next to each other, so it will be quite noisy at night. Will that be okay?"

I nodded briskly and said, "That's fine. Could you please send my father up to his room first, and I'll check-in at the front desk."
