I then realized that there were no weak members in the Marshall family.
Ignoring Sebastian who was still lying on the ground, Jordan turned to us with a smile and said calmly, "Let's head to our next stop."
After that, he walked right past Sebastian and towards the door. He moved slowly as if nothing had happened which made us feel inexplicably uncomfortable.
Hendrix stared at his back for a while before leading me up the stairs.
Crash-
"Jordan, you will regret this!"
The second I walked out of the room, I heard the sound of glass shattering behind me which scared me enough to make me tremble on the spot. I looked at the unlatched mechanical door, guilt rising up my throat like bile. A terrible feeling sat in the pit of my stomach.
"It doesn't matter," Jordan's voice brought me back to reality. When I turned to him, I found that he was still looking as gentle as ever. He smiled and said, "He's irrelevant. I'll deal with him, so neither you nor Hendrix need to bother."
Ding—
The elevator door opened at this moment, and Jordan entered first. When our eyes met, a chill ran down my back and I couldn't move my feet.
Hendrix patted me gently and lowered his head to appease me. "Don't be afraid. With Jordan here, everything will be alright."
I looked deep into his eyes, and then at Jordan. This was the first time I felt truly uncertain since coming to the island.
Could the Marshall family really handle someone as difficult as Sebastian?
"He's right," Jordan's gentle voice sounded again, "As your brother-in-law, you can trust me completely."
