My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1898

"Where's Hendrix? The golf course has been controlled by Sebastian. Have you thought of a way to save him?" I asked while carefully observing the surroundings for fear of any changes.

Before Evan could say anything, I saw the sitter coming over with the children in her arms, escorted by several bodyguards.

The children looked frightened by how fast she was walking. Aurelia was crying loudly. The heartwrenching sounds of her cries made me feel like my children had been greatly wronged.

I took a small step forward and took her into my trembling hands. She immediately quieted down and breathed a sigh of relief. My heart ached as I looked into her soft, innocent eyes.

With the children taken care of, Hendrix was the only one left I was worried about.

"Madam, it's not safe to stay here for long. The president told us to wait for him at the dock."

Perhaps it was because he had been with Hendrix for a long time, Evan was very clear on just how to persuade me. After a moment of consideration, I decided to send the children out first.

When we arrived at the dock, Hendrix's men had already arranged for an evacuation ship. The others who had come to rescue us were rushing to the island from their ships. On one hand, they wanted to get rid of Sebastian's men. On the other hand, they were trying to buy Hendrix some time.

After settling the children down, I waited for Hendrix at the dock.

However, after more than ten minutes of waiting, he was still nowhere in sight. I was starting to feel antsy, so I grabbed Evan and asked, "Hendrix hasn't come out yet?"

Evan replied with a nervous frown, "He should be here soon."

I looked back at the ships that had started leaving in advance. "I'll go get him."

Evan disapproved of my suggestion. "I should be the one to do that. You must stay in a safe place with the children."

I sighed and asked, "If you leave, someone might attack the ship and abduct the children. Are you sure you want me to fight those people?"

If it was up to protecting me or the children, anyone but Hendrix would choose the latter with no hesitation. As expected, hesitation flashed across Evan's eyes.

"Mullen will be with me. Will that ease your worries?" As soon as I said that, I asked Mullen, "We're really going to be putting our lives at risk -will you be alright with this?"
