My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1924

There seemed to be a lot of things in Hendrix's mind that could not be perceived through an average person's way of thinking.

With a belly full of doubts, I waited until the door on the opposite side was closed before I turned back and entered my house.

In the evening, when Irvin came back, it was already time for dinner. Remembering that we had a new neighbor, I mentioned it casually at the dinner table, "You'll definitely not be able to guess who moved in."

"Who?" Irvin asked nonchalantly. He was obviously uninterested in their arrival.

"It's..." I trailed off.

"Ding-dong!" The bell rang.

The words were just right in my throat, but I was interrupted by the sudden doorbell.

Irvin did not like to be disturbed during meal times, so all the maids would return to their rooms after serving the dishes. As there was no one left in the hall to call on and I was close to the door, I stood up and told him, "I'll get the door."

Irvin had actually already set down his cutlery, but seeing that I had already walked over, he had no choice but to let me go instead.

It had been easier to beat him in the trivial matters of life recently.

As soon as I opened the door, a chubby little face appeared at once. "Madam Pretty!" The voice came from the child.

Wynn opened the door, and his tiny, grape- like eyes rolled around as he stared at me with a smile.

I grinned at him and said, "Wynn, what can I do for you?"

"There's no water and there's a blackout at home. The new house is dark and boring," he sulked.

"I see..." I mumbled while frowning and touching the head of the child lovingly.

Before Hendrix moved in, the villa had been idle for a long time. Since he decided to move in so abruptly, it was inevitable that incidents like these were bound to happen.

Hendrix suddenly poked his head out of the halfopened door. "Wynn's a picky eater," he said.

"Huh?" I was stunned and did not understand what he meant.
