My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1969

I glanced at the clock on the wall. "Ten o'clock. What about it?"

Hendrix shot me a cold look before walking up the stairs.

It was only then that I realized that usually at this hour, Wynn was already soundly asleep.

He was thinking about the kid, but the way he expressed it was simple and crude, which made people unhappy.

"Can't he speak properly?" I asked silently.

Suddenly, I felt a tug at my sleeve. I looked down and found that Wynn was looking at me. "Madam Reid, I want to play with my computer for a little while more to finish coding the program."

"How do I tell him, a silly kid with a high IQ, that I would like that as well, but we have to follow the rules?"

After thinking for a moment, I sighed and squatted in front of Wynn. I explained, trying my best to treat him as an adult, "Wynn, it's already very late. I'm tired. The data in the computer won't disappear, but if you don't get enough sleep, you won't grow tall, and won't be able to protect the person you want to in the future. So let's wash up and get some sleep now. Well finish up the rest tomorrow, okay?"

Wynn nodded his head. "Okay."

"What a good boy!"

Although I had spent several days with Wynn, his obedience still surprises me.

The next day.

It was Monday. The family got up very early in the morning. After having breakfast, Hendrix went to work, dropping Wynn off at school on the way.

I was the only one left in the huge house.

Feeling bored to death, I picked up a gardening tool and went to the front yard to prune the plants with the servants.

While pruning, I couldn't help but think of Irvin and his wife. When I had searched for information about him, I didn't find anything about his marriage. I wondered what had happened between them.
