Evan was standing behind Hendrix, panting. The two of them must have rushed back home after getting the news.
After a moment of awkward silence, Hendrix looked down at Aaron's hand, which was holding my arm. He said coldly, "You took Aurelia away a few years ago, and now you want to take my wife? Do you really think I'm that generous?"
Aaron sneered, as though he had heard a funny joke, showing his absolute contempt for him.
Hendrix didn't immediately get into a fight with him. Instead, he shifted his gaze to Aurelia, who was in his arms. At once, the hostility in his eyes faded. He called out to her softly, with a hint of uncertainty, "Aurelia?"
Aurelia wasn't shy at all. "Uncle, you're so handsome," she said innocently.
It left everyone speechless.
Was this the right time for that?!
Once again, an awkward silence fell between them.
Aaron's face darkened. "Aurelia, what did I tell you?!" he scolded.
"I remember!" Aurelia recited, "Other than Uncle Aaron, all the good-looking uncles are bad guys!"
"That's right." Aaron nodded with satisfaction. He lifted his chin proudly and said with a serious look on his face, "I'll give you another chance. How should you address this person?"
Aurelia answered loudly, "Bad man!"
"Right. That's my good girl. I'll buy you a new dress later." Aaron was finally satisfied. As he acted intimately with Aurelia, he looked at Hendrix with smugness in his eyes, clearly trying to provoke him.
