Aurelia clapped her hands excitedly. "Yay! Uncle Aaron is going to fight again!"
Before I could react, the little girl turned around, pulling me with her. She then started singing while swaying her head from side to side, "Jingle bells, jingle bells..."
When I was wondering what was going on, I turned my head around to look, and I found that the atmosphere had grown even more intense than before.
Hendrix turned his head to give Evan a knowing look. Evan immediately understood. He stepped forward and put his hand on Aaron's shoulder. He said respectfully, "Mr. Reid, come with me. She's in good hands."
As soon as he finished speaking, Aaron threw him over his shoulder, onto the ground.
Accompanied by Aurelia's singing, Evan clutched his stomach and groaned in pain. Just as he was about to react, Aaron stepped on him, kicking him on the ground.
"You were never a match for me. How brave of you to come up to me now. You really are Hendrix's most capable lackey. It's a pity though that you have such a master... a good-for-nothing," Aaron said condescendingly, every word directed at Hendrix.
Before anyone could react, he withdrew his leg. He walked over to Hendrix and punched him in the face. Then he kicked Hendrix mercilessly, sending him flying through the air.
In the blink of an eye, Hendrix had landed on the lawn at the roadside. He tried to get up with one hand, but Aaron leaned forward and grabbed him by the neck. His face flushed in an instant. His usual elegance had disappeared.
"You didn't see that coming, did you? Six years ago, I wasn't able to take Arianna away. Now I can." Aaron gritted his teeth. His gaze looked intense as he continued, "But you, you've made no progress. It's been so many years. For that, you're not qualified to protect them."
Once the servants in the front yard saw the commotion, they rushed over. They wanted to stop it, but were too afraid to approach them.
I was shocked by Aaron's actions. However, other than being shocked, my heart also ached more and more as I watched Hendrix's face turn bloody.
Was Aaron really going to kill him?
It turned out that I was overthinking things.
